Anambra APC Hails Nnabuife’s Defection, Eyes 2027 Political Victory
The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the defection of the member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife, from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the APC as a testament to the party’s growing influence and expanding political structures in the area.
The party further stated that Anambra State was increasingly connecting with the centre, describing the development as a reflection of what it called the growing support of the electorate for the APC.
The party said its commitment to the people of Anambra State was reflected in its policies and programmes, as well as the infrastructure development being undertaken by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Our great party has always been people-oriented and has continued to engage with the people of Anambra State. This is evident in the massive infrastructural development taking place across the country under the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” the party stated.
It added that Nnabuife’s defection from APGA to the APC further demonstrated the party’s growing appeal in the state and expressed confidence in its ability to deliver electoral victories in the 2027 general elections.
“This development is made manifest in the recent defection of Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife from APGA to the APC. It further brings to the fore the capacity of the Anambra State APC to deliver our presidential candidate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the 2027 general elections, as well as all the party’s candidates from top to bottom,” the party stated.
The party also reiterated its appreciation to the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and the APC National Working Committee (NWC) for their leadership and efforts in strengthening the party’s structures in the South-East and beyond.
It described Nnabuife’s defection as one of the gains of the ongoing efforts to consolidate the party’s structures ahead of the 2027 elections and secure Tinubu’s re-election.
“This milestone further reaffirms the capacity of our Governor-General, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, to galvanise and harmonise the structures of our great party in the South-East and beyond towards the re-election of Mr President and the delivery of all the party’s candidates across the board,” the party said.
The APC also commended the National Working Committee for what it described as its effective leadership in strengthening the party’s presence in the South-East and across the country.
“The party also commends the National Working Committee for its leadership qualities and efforts in consolidating the party’s stronghold in the South-East and the country in general,” it added.
Continuing, Anosike stated that the Anambra State chapter of the APC welcomed Nnabuife into the party and urged her to remain committed to her vision of connecting the state more closely with the Federal Government.
“To this end, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State welcomes our sister, Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife, to the party. We urge her to remain focused on her vision of taking our state to the centre,” Anosike said.
The party also welcomed members and political structures of APGA in Orumba North and Orumba South Local Government Areas who, according to it, had decided to join the APC.
“The party also welcomes the structures of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Orumba North and Orumba South Local Government Areas who saw the wisdom in collapsing into the ruling party at the centre. We are pleased to have them become part of the journey towards returning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Aso Rock,” he said.
