ADC’s John Nwosu Campaign Gains Momentum Ahead of Anambra Gubernatorial Election
The Director of Research and Strategy of the John Nwosu Campaign Organization, Hon. Richard Okechukwu, has expressed confidence that Chief John Nwosu, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), will deliver transformative leadership in Anambra State if elected in the November 8 gubernatorial election.
Speaking on Sunday, Okechukwu highlighted what he described as a combination of widespread support, a strong personal track record, and well-articulated policy programmes that position Nwosu as a frontrunner in the race.
According to him, the ADC has established a solid presence across the 21 local government areas and 326 electoral wards of Anambra State, with its influence growing both within the state and nationally.
He further emphasized the party’s rising grassroots acceptance, particularly in Anambra the home state of the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi whose recent alignment with the ADC ahead of the 2027 presidential election has bolstered the party’s credibility.
“The ADC is now recognized among the major political parties in Nigeria. It has sound programmes designed for the collective good of Ndi Anambra. Chief John Nwosu is coming to rescue the state from the current quagmire and maladministration. Our strategies are already in place, and we are confident of victory,” Okechukwu said.
He disclosed that Nwosu’s campaign is built around a comprehensive seven-point agenda, focusing on priority areas such as security, healthcare, environment, economic growth, market reforms, education, and social welfare.
Regarding security, Okechukwu noted that the ADC candidate aims to tackle the state’s security challenges using technology-driven solutions.
“As an Information and Communication Technology expert, Chief Nwosu has repeatedly stated that security requires more than arming able-bodied men. He believes modern technology offers more effective, proactive approaches, and he has proposed practical, actionable strategies to ensure safety in Anambra,” he added.
He, however, declined to reveal specific security strategies, citing confidentiality concerns.
On campaign ethics, Okechukwu stressed that Chief Nwosu is a principled and disciplined politician who will not engage in negative or smear campaigning.
Political observers have noted that several factors strengthen Nwosu’s candidacy. Notably, he has been adopted as the consensus candidate of the Anambra Coalition Stakeholders Forum—a group comprising members from the ADC and other political formations.
Additionally, he has received endorsements from various influential political figures across the state.
His professional background as an ICT expert, economist, and businessman with over 30 years of experience—sets him apart from other contenders and brings a unique skill set to governance.
Nwosu’s seven-point plan places strong emphasis on human capital development, education, enterprise support, and social welfare, alongside his security agenda. His campaign consistently underscores values such as transparency, accountability, and fiscal prudence.
According to his team, Nwosu’s capacity to manage resources efficiently is a testament to his readiness for leadership.
The campaign also expressed confidence in his financial capacity to sustain extensive grassroots mobilization across the state.
Okechukwu concluded by reaffirming the campaign’s optimism:“With these clear advantages, we are confident that the ADC will emerge victorious in the November 8 election. Our goal is to change the narrative of governance in Anambra State.”
He further emphasized a practical approach to leadership:
“My view on governance is simple: it’s not rocket science. You don’t need to be in office for more than four years to make an impact. Even with an extended tenure, you can’t do everything. A passionate and purposeful leader can achieve meaningful results within a single term. The so-called ‘4+4’ is not mandatory,” Okechukwu added .
