Global Fund Summit Set to Unlock Billions for Fight Against HIV, TB & Malaria

Momentum is rising as South Africa gets set to host the Global Fund’s 8th Replenishment Summit on Friday, 21 November 2025. According to a media advisory issued by Global Health Strategies (GHS), the high-level gathering will be co-hosted by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

The Summit, which will hold both virtually and physically in Johannesburg alongside the G20 Leaders Summit, is a major platform for mobilising global donor commitments to end HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria.

Co-hosted by South Africa and the UK in partnership with the Global Fund, the event is expected to renew international resolve toward tackling the world’s deadliest infectious diseases.

As the largest financier of prevention, treatment and care programmes for these illnesses, the Global Fund remains central to global health progress and this year’s Summit is anticipated to inspire bold pledges, accelerate coordinated action and strengthen partnerships across regions and sectors.

With South Africa and the UK championing core values such as solidarity, sustainability, innovation, equity and reform, the meeting will bring together leaders from governments, civil society, communities, multilateral and bilateral agencies, and the private sector.
Discussions will also spotlight the need for resilient and sustainable health systems capable of protecting communities and driving long-term development gains.
