2027:Raised Poor, Now Changing Lives by God’s Blessings— Barr. Oli
Barrister Chukwudi Oli
Barrister Chukwudi Oli, a House of Representatives aspirant for the Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofi Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 2027 general elections, has vowed to transform lives through purposeful and accountable representation if elected.
Chief Oli, who is contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), made this known during an interactive session with journalists on Saturday at his country home in Uruorji Village, Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Describing himself as a product of humble beginnings, he stated:
“I am the son of a very poor man who died poor. However, God has blessed me. After obtaining my degree as a legal professional, I committed myself to touching lives. My background has shaped my passion for service.”
He said that his aspiration is driven by a deep understanding of poverty and a strong desire to uplift others.
Chief Oli pledged to set a new standard of genuine, people-centered representation in the constituency.
According to him, unlike other aspirants, his mission is clear and anchored on transparency, accountability, and measurable impact.
“God has blessed me, and I want to do more for my people because I understand the pain of poverty. I am the only aspirant who has openly declared that I will fully disclose to my constituents whatever resources are allocated to them.”he said .
He further stressed that his leadership would be rooted in accountability and constant engagement with the people.
“My service will be rooted in accountability. I will maintain regular town hall meetings to understand the needs of my people. Effective representation requires consultation, and it is through continuous engagement that I can sponsor quality legislation that truly reflects their interests.”he stated.
Chief Oli also outlined his development agenda, which focuses on sustainable empowerment rather than short-term palliatives.
“My representation is not about distributing Keke NAPEP, motorcycles, grinding machines, or solar lights. It is about building entrepreneurs and institutions that will outlive generations. We must invest in people, especially our youths, and equip them to become future leaders.” he added.
He noted that he would initiate progressive legal frameworks and programs aimed at empowering youths, supporting the elderly, and uplifting all segments of society.
Reiterating his commitment to transparency, he challenged constituents to hold him accountable for every promise he makes.
“My word will be sacrosanct. I will not betray the trust of my people. I will prudently manage the resources meant for my constituency and ensure they are used solely for the benefit of the people.” he said.
The legal practitioner also pledged to collaborate with the Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, in advancing infrastructural development across the state.
“I will work hand-in-hand with the state government to build infrastructure that will stand the test of time. I am committed to projects that are sustainable and impactful, not those that fade away shortly after execution.”he added.
Highlighting the size and importance of the constituency, Chief Oli noted:“Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia is the largest constituency in Anambra State, comprising 51 wards. Anaocha has about 320 polling units, Njikoka about 231, and Dunukofia 165. This constituency is very dear to me.”
While acknowledging the contributions of past representatives, he maintained that performance is largely dependent on capacity.
“Those who have represented this constituency have done their best, but one cannot perform beyond one’s capacity. I believe I have the competence, vision, and integrity required to deliver exceptional representation.” he said .
He described himself as a servant leader committed to humility and inclusiveness.
“I am not a leader who seeks to dominate or elevate himself above others, as is common in today’s politics. I am a servant leader, committed to carrying my people along in every step of governance.”he stated.
Addressing the issue of zoning, he acknowledged ongoing agitations within the constituency but maintained that competence should remain the primary criterion.
“There are agitations for zoning, with different groups asserting their turn. While I respect these concerns, I believe leadership should be based on capacity. However, I am also carefully reflecting on these issues.” he stated.
He reaffirmed his identity and mission:“For those who do not know me, I am the son of a poor man, Christian Chigozie Oli. My journey defines my purpose—to serve selflessly, uplift my people, and build a future anchored on opportunity, transparency, and sustainable development.”
