FRSC Conducts Largest-Ever Digital Promotion Exercise for 10,005 Personnel Nationwide
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has conducted its 2026 digital promotion examination for over 10,005 personnel nationwide.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Corps Commander and Corps Public Education Officer, FRSC Headquarters, Abuja, Mr. Osondu Ohaeri, the exercise was described as a landmark demonstration of the commitment of the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, to staff welfare, institutional growth, and career development.
According to the statement, the Corps Marshal successfully oversaw the conduct of the 2026 Promotion Exercise for 10,005 personnel, comprising 3,597 Intermediate Rank Officers and 6,408 Junior Officers across the country.
The exercise is regarded as one of the largest promotion exercises in the history of the Corps.
The statement noted that the exercise was driven by cutting-edge Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platforms deliberately deployed to guarantee transparency, fairness, credibility, and inclusiveness throughout the process.
The technology-driven approach eliminated bottlenecks, enhanced operational efficiency, and ensured that every eligible personnel had an equal opportunity to compete based on merit, competence, and performance.
“To ensure transparency, fairness, and compliance with established guidelines, the exercise, which commenced across the 12 Zonal Commands on 14 June 2026, was monitored through the deployment of surveillance cameras and supervised by representatives of the Corps Marshal. Observers from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Federal Character Commission also monitored the process in line with the Corps Promotion Policy and the Federal Character Principle.
“A notable feature of the exercise was the seamless integration of officers pursuing various academic and professional development programmes in institutions outside the country,” the statement said.
It further explained that through innovative ICT deployment, personnel undergoing further studies abroad were able to participate remotely without disrupting their educational pursuits. This, it said, further demonstrated the Corps Marshal’s determination to ensure that no eligible staff member was disadvantaged because of self-development commitments or geographical location.
The statement added that the exercise reflects the Corps Marshal’s strategic vision of building a highly motivated, professional, and future-ready workforce where diligence, commitment, innovation, and excellence are duly recognised and rewarded.
By placing career progression at the centre of his leadership agenda, Shehu Mohammed has continued to strengthen staff confidence in the system while fostering a culture of productivity, accountability, professionalism, and healthy competition within the Corps.
“Under his leadership, the FRSC has continued to witness significant reforms aimed at improving personnel welfare, strengthening institutional capacity, and leveraging technology to enhance service delivery.
The successful conduct of the 2026 Promotion Exercise is yet another testament to his resolve to institutionalise best practices and build a modern, digitally driven organisation that prioritises the aspirations and growth of its workforce.
“As the Corps continues its transformation journey, the promotion exercise serves as a powerful reminder that hard work, professionalism, and dedication remain the pathways to career advancement within the organisation. It also reaffirms the Corps Marshal’s enduring commitment to building a workforce that is inspired, empowered, and well-positioned to deliver on its mandate of creating safer roads for all Nigerians.” it added.
