POWA Applauds Anambra CP, Police Command, Rolls Out 2026 Action Plan

The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Anambra State Chapter, on Wednesday expressed profound appreciation to the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, and the Command’s management team for their sustained cooperation, encouragement, and support throughout the year 2025.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the association conveyed its commendation during a formal thank-you visit to the Anambra State Police Command, aimed at acknowledging the assistance and goodwill extended to POWA in the course of the year.
The visit was led by the Acting State Chairperson of POWA, Mrs. Eno Mantu, who thanked the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, FWC, MNIPS, PhD, and the Command leadership for their unwavering cooperation, moral support, and logistical assistance, which significantly contributed to the successful implementation of POWA’s programmes and welfare initiatives in 2025.
Mrs. Mantu noted that the Command’s support enhanced the association’s capacity to deliver impactful interventions targeted at improving the welfare of police officers’ families and strengthening community relations.
During the visit, the POWA leadership formally presented its Outline of Proposed Activities for the year 2026. The outlined programmes include comprehensive welfare initiatives for police families, skills acquisition and empowerment schemes, health and educational support programmes, community outreach projects, and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting family stability and overall well-being of officers and their dependants.
The association further pledged its continued collaboration with the Anambra State Police Command in advancing discipline, professionalism, and community-friendly policing. POWA reaffirmed its commitment to complementing the Command’s operational efforts through welfare-driven initiatives designed to boost morale, enhance family support systems, and contribute to effective service delivery.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended POWA for its resilience, dedication, and consistent contributions to the welfare of police families and the larger society. He assured the association of the Command’s continued support and said that strong family support structures remain critical to improving officers’ morale, focus, and operational efficiency.
The visit ended with the presentation of a symbolic gift to the Commissioner of Police, exchange of goodwill messages, cordial interactions, and a renewed commitment to partnership, underscoring the harmonious working relationship between the Anambra State Police Command and the Police Officers’ Wives Association.
