2027: Aguata II Constituency Deserves Better Representation — OC Bravo

By Raymond Ozoji, Awka

As aspirants anxiously await the conduct of the May 23 APGA primaries, a strong contender for the Aguata II State Constituency seat, Arc. Okonkwo Chukwuka Williams, popularly known as OC Bravo, has once again reiterated his position that Aguata II State Constituency (Aguata North) deserves better representation in the next political dispensation.

OC Bravo, who was recently screened and cleared by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to participate in the May 23 party primaries, said the constituency deserves a representative whom the people can trust with their mandate and in whom they can repose confidence, not someone who would shut the door against them after being elected, as is currently being experienced in the constituency.

He explained that, beyond what he described as the excruciating experience of poor representation in the ongoing 8th Anambra State House of Assembly, attention must also be drawn to the fact that, out of the eight communities that make up Aguata II Constituency, Aguluezechukwu remains the only town yet to produce a member of the House of Assembly since the constituency’s creation.

OC Bravo therefore appealed to APGA stakeholders and the people of Aguata North to, in the spirit of equity, fairness, and good conscience, recognize that Aguluezechukwu is an integral part of Aguata II Constituency and rally round him as the primary election approaches.

He maintained that critical analysis and performance indicators show that little or nothing is happening in the constituency, insisting that Aguata North cannot continue in its present condition. According to him, there is virtually nothing on ground to justify the claim that the constituency currently has representation in the state legislature, even as the incumbent lawmaker seeks re-election.

Although he expressed optimism about clinching the APGA ticket for the Aguata II State Constituency election next year, Arc. Okonkwo Chukwuka Williams emphasized the urgent need for the people of Aguata North not to repeat what he described as the “colossal mistake” they made in the past. He noted that many constituents are openly dissatisfied and bitterly complaining about the quality of representation they are currently receiving from the incumbent representative.

Okonkwo, whose philanthropic contributions towards the growth and advancement of APGA in Aguata and Aguata North have reportedly been acknowledged by stakeholders in the area, maintained that if he could remain responsible and responsive to the needs of the people as a private citizen, he is fully prepared to change the narrative of what he termed “inhuman and inhumane representation,” which, according to him, has done nothing but plunge the people into prolonged agony and regret.

The frontline contender, while addressing APGA faithful and stakeholders in Aguata North, assured them of purposeful and people-oriented representation for Aguata II State Constituency if they rally round him during the May 23 APGA primaries to enable him secure the party’s ticket and emerge as its candidate for next year’s House of Assembly election.
