Anosike Vows to Put APC First in Anambra
Anambra State APC Chairman Senator Emma Anosike
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Senator Emma Anosike, has vowed to reposition the party as the preferred political platform in the state.
Senator Anosike made the declaration in Awka on Saturday while addressing party stakeholders shortly before the distribution of materials for the party’s primary elections for house representative members across the 21 local government areas of the state.
According to him, the APC leadership is committed to ensuring a transparent and credible exercise in all wards across the state, stressing that the party is determined to strengthen its internal democratic processes ahead of future political contests.
He urged party faithful to take the exercise seriously, noting that residents of the state were already beginning to feel the impact of the renewed determination within the APC to reposition itself for effective leadership and electoral success.
The APC chairman called on members to sustain the momentum and remain united, emphasizing that every success recorded by the party would ultimately benefit all members and the people of the state.
Anosike, who stressed the need for discipline and stability within the party, also underscored the importance of grooming younger politicians to strategically take up leadership roles and strengthen the party’s future.
“I am not contesting for any position again. My major interest now is to see the younger generation grow politically and take their rightful place in leadership within the state. If you see me contesting for any office again, then you should take me to the hospital,” Anosike said humorously.
He further enjoined members to make wise choices during the primaries by electing credible candidates capable of attracting development and delivering the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
Our correspondent reports that delegations from Abuja were on ground to supervise the primary elections, while sensitive and non-sensitive materials were distributed at about 5 p.m. for onward movement to various wards across the state.
It was further gathered that the party adopted the direct primary mode for the exercise.
Meanwhile, Insideoutnews learnt that no fewer than 27 aspirants are jostling for the APC House of Representatives tickets in Anambra State.
