By Polycarp Ifeanyi
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State has unanimously passed a vote of confidence in its House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, Ph.D., ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At a strategic unity meeting held on Saturday party leaders from all 16 wards in Ogbaru reaffirmed their unwavering support for Awogu’s candidacy following his landslide victory in the party’s primary election.
The meeting was convened by the APC Chairman in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Hon. Patrick Chukwuma, and was attended by all 16 Ward Chairmen, the 16 Ward Women Leaders led by Hon. Mrs. Adaobi Okafor, youth leaders, party executives, and other critical stakeholders across the local government.
Speaking during the meeting, the party leaders described the outcome of the primary election as transparent, credible, and reflective of the collective will of APC members in Ogbaru Federal Constituency.
They noted that Awogu secured a resounding victory with 688 votes, defeating Mrs. Nkechi Isamade, who polled 41 votes.
According to the stakeholders, the overwhelming margin of victory clearly demonstrated the confidence and trust party members have reposed in Awogu’s leadership and vision for the constituency.
“We are one family, and our unity remains our greatest strength. No amount of propaganda, misinformation, or false media reports can alter the facts. The people have spoken through a free and fair process, and we stand firmly behind Hon. Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu,” the stakeholders declared.
The meeting also condemned attempts by certain individuals to misrepresent the outcome of the primary election on social media and other platforms. The stakeholders described such actions as misleading, divisive, and contrary to the principles of party unity and discipline.
They urged party faithful and members of the public to disregard any narrative portraying the defeated aspirant as the winner of the primary election, emphasizing that the official results remain valid, conclusive, and widely accepted by the party structure in the constituency.
The stakeholders further called on all APC members, supporters, and political interest groups within Ogbaru Federal Constituency to close ranks and work collectively toward securing a decisive victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
Reaffirming the APC’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and inclusiveness, the leaders pledged to remain united and focused on strengthening the party’s grassroots structures across all wards. They stressed that only a united APC can effectively mobilize support and deliver electoral success in Ogbaru Federal Constituency.
The meeting concluded on a high note, with stakeholders unanimously endorsing Awogu’s candidacy and reiterating their confidence in his ability to lead the party to victory.
The gathering ended with chants of:
“United We Stand. Together We Win. APC Ogbaru Remains One, Strong, and Indivisible.”
