Obigwe: Mazi Odera’s Attacks on Soludo Are Politically Hurting Peter Obi, Not Helping Him
Mr. Peter Obi and Governor Charles Soludo
The National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, on Wednesday stated that Mazi Odera’s actions and commentaries are politically damaging to Peter Obi.
In a statement titled “Mazi Odera’s Attacks on Governor Soludo and Their Political Implications,” Obigwe expressed strong support for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, describing him as a leader committed to the transformation of Anambra State and the advancement of the Igbo people within Nigeria.
“When it comes to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, I will always say: ‘Touch not God’s anointed and do the prophet of God no harm.’
I sincerely see Governor Soludo as a leader chosen to transform our beloved state and help guide the Igbo people toward greater political and economic progress in Nigeria.
Mazi Odera’s repeated criticisms of Governor Soludo, in my view, do not serve the interests of Peter Obi or his supporters. Rather than strengthening Peter Obi’s political standing, such actions may have the opposite effect,” he said.
According to Obigwe, Governor Soludo spoke candidly at the Abakaliki gathering of political stakeholders and progressives.
“My position is that the Igbo people must critically evaluate political developments and make decisions based on facts and long-term interests. We should avoid unquestioning political support and instead embrace constructive engagement and informed political choices,” he stated.
Obigwe further argued that Peter Obi’s political approach has not delivered the level of benefits expected by many supporters in the South-East.
He maintained that continued attacks on Governor Soludo would not change the governor’s political position or achievements.
According to him, Governor Soludo’s remarks in Abakaliki reflected his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
He also expressed confidence that APGA candidates would perform strongly in future elections, particularly in Anambra State.
“As the 2027 general election approaches, the Igbo people should reflect carefully on Governor Soludo’s advice at the Abakaliki gathering and consider the political direction that best serves their interests.
One of the differences between Governor Soludo and Peter Obi, in my view, is that Governor Soludo is direct and transparent about his political positions and alliances.
His message at the Abakaliki gathering was that the South-East should embrace a politics of engagement and collaboration with the Federal Government for the benefit of the region.
Those who disagree with Governor Soludo’s position are entitled to their opinions, but political disagreements should be expressed respectfully and constructively.
Daalu nu,” he said.
