Why Ndi Ogbaru Won’t Forget Prince Chukwuka Onyema In 2027

As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather steam, stakeholders in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State have called on the people to rally behind Prince Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema, popularly known as “Chu-Chu”, to represent the constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
The call was made in a statement issued by his supporters, who described the former federal lawmaker as the right man to actualise the yearnings and aspirations of the good people of Ogbaru.
The supporters described Prince Onyema as an “old war horse” in politics with the experience, courage and innovation required for effective legislative representation.
They noted that the longer a representative stays in the National Assembly, the more influence and capacity he gains to attract development to his people.
“As you approach the legislative house, the more you acquire power and relevance to serve your people. Chu-Chu knows the way. He is a goal-getter,” the statement read.
Prince Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema previously represented Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. During his tenure, he was credited with attracting several developmental projects to the area.
He is widely regarded as a politician with a large heart for his people and one of the finest leaders Ogbaru has produced. In recognition of his contributions to community development, he has been honoured with several chieftaincy titles including Ochendo, Akukalia amongst other.
Some of the projects linked to him include:
- Reconstruction of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Okpoko Road.
- Reconstruction of culverts across Ogbaru LGA.
- Poverty alleviation programmes and business support for residents
- Donation of cars to constituents
- Award of scholarships to students
- Provision of civic halls and cottage hospitals to the community
- Establishment of an ICT Centre.
Beyond infrastructure, the former lawmaker is also credited with bringing fame to Ndi Ogbaru and mentoring many young people into politics.
Supporters said his leadership style united the people and positioned Ogbaru for greater visibility at the national level.
The group insisted that Ogbaru cannot afford to forget Prince Onyema in a hurry, describing him as the man whose “cap fits” for the 2027 Ogbaru Federal House of Representatives election.
“With Chu-Chu, the future of Ogbaru is bright. We urge Ndi Ogbaru to begin early mobilisation to ensure victory in 2027,” they stated.
As the race for 2027 approaches, political observers say the early endorsement signals growing momentum for Prince Onyema’s return to the Green Chamber.
