Ngige, Okadigbo, Moghalu, Others Make Anambra APC’s 230-Member Tinubu Campaign Council

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 230-member Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) to spearhead its mobilisation and campaign efforts for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
The campaign council is chaired by the state chairman of the party, Senator Emma Anosike, while prominent members include former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige; Senator Margery Okadigbo; Senator Uche Ekwunife; Senator Joy Emordi; Chief Azuka Okwuosa; and the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the APC, Barrister Emeka Okafor, among other notable party leaders and stakeholders.
The inclusion of the former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, in the council has effectively dispelled speculations that he was not part of the Anambra State campaign structure for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Similarly, the development signals the political return of former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and former Labour Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Chief George Moghalu, to the APC, his former political platform.
The constitution of the 230-member council is also seen as a strategic move by the Anambra APC leadership to consolidate its political structures, reconcile interests, accommodate influential stakeholders and strengthen the party’s mobilisation capacity ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a related development, the Anambra State chapter of the APC has thrown its weight behind the senatorial ambition of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, endorsing him for the Imo West Senatorial District seat.
The party described Uzodimma’s proposed return to the National Assembly as a significant political advantage, arguing that his experience in governance, legislative affairs and party administration would enrich deliberations at the Senate and strengthen legislative representation.
According to a statement signed by the Anambra APC chairman, Senator Emma Anosike, the Presidential Campaign Council has been structured into various departments and units, including the Patrons of the Council, Advisory Department, and Media and Strategy Department, among others.
Anosike explained that the decision to establish a large campaign council was deliberate, stressing that the party intended to bring all its leaders, elected officials, former public office holders and other critical stakeholders into the campaign structure to ensure a coordinated and effective mobilisation effort for President Tinubu’s re-election.
“We are deliberate about the size of the Presidential Campaign Council, and this is aimed at making sure that all hands are on deck in the re-election of our President,” Anosike stated.
He added that the campaign initiative was also designed to sustain what he described as the massive and unprecedented infrastructural transformation currently taking place in Anambra State, while expressing confidence that the political strength and experience of members of the council would guarantee victory for the APC.
“This is in furtherance of sustaining the massive and humongous infrastructural revolution that is currently going on in Anambra, and with the calibre of people in this Campaign Council, we are home and dry on the 16th of January next year,” he said.
Anosike also formally announced the party’s endorsement of Governor Hope Uzodimma for the Imo West Senatorial District seat, describing him as an experienced administrator and politician whose legislative experience would be an asset to the Senate.
The Anambra APC chairman maintained that Uzodimma’s political and administrative credentials, coupled with his experience as a ranking senator, placed him in a strong position to provide effective representation and make meaningful contributions to national development.
“We have no doubt in our minds that the candidacy of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for the Imo West Senatorial District is one that will make great impact on the people. Being a ranking senator, his wealth of experience would be brought to bear at the hallowed chambers,” he said.
The endorsement further underscores the Anambra APC’s expression of solidarity with the Imo State governor, while highlighting the party’s intention to strengthen political cooperation and build a formidable platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
