“Premium vehicle hire and integrated travel booking services set to debut in Nigeria’s capital”

GIG Mobility (GIGM) has announced plans to launch hireX, a premium vehicle hire and charter marketplace, and PASS by GIGM, an integrated travel and tours platform, in Abuja on Tuesday, November 4, 2026.

GIGM, described as West Africa’s largest intercity road transport company, operates more than 40 terminals across Nigeria and Ghana.

Through its intercity bus services, hireX vehicle hire marketplace and PASS travel and tours platform, the company leverages technology to make travel safer, simpler and more connected for millions of Guests annually.

According to the company, hireX by GIGM will provide chauffeur-driven vehicles for hourly or daily hire, with transparent upfront pricing and professionally vetted drivers.

The service is designed to cater to executive transportation, airport transfers, interstate journeys, group travel and event transportation.

Unveiling the plans on Sunday in Abuja, Dr. Enahoro Okhae, Chief Executive Officer of GIG Mobility, disclosed that the company’s Abuja fleet would comprise GIGM-owned vehicles and cars supplied by verified partner operators.

He explained that PASS by GIGM would integrate intercity bus tickets, flight bookings, hotel reservations, airport pickups and curated local and international tours into a single app, enabling users to plan and manage their entire journeys in one place rather than dealing with multiple service providers.

Explaining the choice of Abuja for the launch, Dr. Okhae said the city’s demanding schedules made reliable and efficient transportation particularly important.

“Abuja runs on schedules: meetings, ministries, embassies, flights. The people who keep this city moving deserve transport that keeps up with them.

“For nearly three decades, Nigerians have trusted GIGM with their intercity journeys. On November 4, we bring that same trust to every part of the trip in the capital,” he said.

Providing further details about the launch, Jude Odum, Chief Operating Officer of GIG Mobility, said the company was already engaging organisations in Abuja ahead of the rollout.

“We’re already working with organisations in Abuja ahead of launch. Corporates, embassies and NGOs that want one partner for executive transport, staff movement and travel management should talk to us now. Early partners will help shape how we serve the city,” Odum said.

He added that from November 4, customers would be able to book hireX through hirex.gigmobility.co and the GIGM app, while PASS would be accessible through the GIGM app and the company’s website, www.gigm.com.
