Anambra CP Calls for Enhanced All-Inclusive Policing Strategy

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has reiterated the need for a more comprehensive and inclusive policing strategy.
This call came during a series of stakeholder engagement visits aimed at strengthening collaboration for improved security across the state.
On Thursday, the Commissioner paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Anambra State House of Assembly, where he held a closed-door meeting to discuss pressing security issues and explore areas of partnership.
In a statement released on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the CP emphasized his commitment to building a policing approach that prioritizes community engagement, trust-building, and participatory collaboration with key stakeholders.
According to SP Ikenga, CP Orutugu highlighted the importance of engaging various segments of society, including political, traditional, and community leaders to gain meaningful insights into local security challenges and formulate effective, sustainable solutions.
“The Commissioner believes that fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders will not only enhance trust between law enforcement and the public but also promote a safer and more secure environment for all residents of Anambra State,” Ikenga stated.
CP Orutugu affirmed the Command’s dedication to leveraging stakeholder collaboration and grassroots participation as vital tools for enhancing public safety and tackling emerging security threats in the state.
