Idemili North Mayor Sets Record Straight on Park Crisis,Backs Govt’s position
Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka
Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area in Anambra State, has clarified his position on the Nkpor Central Motor Park crisis.

Contrary to allegations, Nkwoka denies any interest in the park or fighting Governor Charles Soludo. Instead, he supports the state government’s contract with A.C Uzoegwu, who has managed the park for years.
Nkwoka revealed that Afam Uzoegwu, allegedly approached him, seeking to take over the park’s management.
Nkwoka insisted that Afam Uzoegwu should allow A.C Uzoegwu to complete his 13-year contract, which has only run for about six years.
Afam Uzoegwu claimed to have a document authorizing him to collect internal revenue from the park, but Nkwcha questioned why he would want to cut his brother’s contract short.
The chairman emphasized that his position aligns with the state government’s, citing a letter from the Commissioner of Transport. The letter confirmed that the ministry has a contract agreement with A.C Uzoegwu, not Afam Uzoegwu.
Nkwoka stated that he will not support any attempt to cut short A.C Uzoegwu’s contract.
Nkwoka denied allegations of inciting unrest or plotting to kill Afam Uzoegwu, describing them as baseless and an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
He expressed regret that Afam Uzoegwu would make such claims while simultaneously seeking to meet with him.
Nkwoka maintained that the dispute is between the two brothers, A.C Uzoegwu and Afam Uzoegwu, and that he is merely supporting the state government’s contract agreement.
He called for an end to the misinformation and urged the public to see through the controversy.

Idemili North Mayor Hits Back: No Personal Fight Over Nkpor Park, Backs State Govt Contract
The Mayor dismissed allegations that he is in conflict with the state governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, over the management of a motor park in the council.
He described such claims as mischievous attempts to mislead the public and create division between him and the state government.
The controversy centers around the Nkpor Central Motor Park in Nkpor Community, where some have accused the LGA chairman of inciting unrest related to the park’s management.
Speaking with our correspondent at his office, Hon. Nkwoka clarified that he has no personal interest in the park. Rather, his stance is that the individual holding the state government contract for the park, A.C. Uzoegwu, should be allowed to complete his tenure without interference.
“A.C. Uzoegwu has been managing the park for several years with the approval of the state government,” Nkwoka said.
He recounted an incident where one Afam Uzoegwu approached him, requesting control of the park.
Nkwoka said, “I told Afam that the park is under contract to his brother, A.C. Uzoegwu, and that I cannot override the state government’s agreement.”
The chairman explained that he has no authority to intervene in state government contracts.
“Afam came to me repeatedly from November last year until May this year, claiming he had documents authorizing him to collect internally generated revenue (IGR) from the park. I questioned why he would seek to cut short his brother’s existing contract,” Nkwoka added.
According to him, A.C. Uzoegwu holds a valid contract with the state government, and Afam should respect this arrangement by allowing the contract to run its course.
He advised that Afam could apply for management of the park through the Ministry of Transport once the contract expires.
Nkwoka further noted that the Ministry of Transport, through the commissioner, has officially communicated to his office confirming that the current contract is exclusively with A.C. Uzoegwu, not Afam Uzoegwu.
According to him,the ministry stated that the contract duration is 13 years, of which only six years have elapsed.
“My position aligns with that of the state government,” “The commissioner’s letter is clear ,the ministry’s contract remains valid and should not be prematurely terminated. That is where I stand.”he said.
The chairman expressed regret that Afam Uzoegwu has been attempting to embroil him in the dispute, despite having no power or involvement in the matter.
He also revealed that the state government has been gradually transferring some motor parks back to local government control, with more expected to follow.
Addressing a serious allegation made by Afam Uzoegwu, that Nkwoka sent people to assassinate him,the chairman dismissed the claim as baseless and unfortunate.
“It is very unfortunate that Afam accuses me of plotting to kill him, especially even when is seeking meetings with me. Even in his court case, he did not include this allegation because he knows he cannot prove it. He filed a petition with the police, which is currently under investigation, if he is saying the truth,he should provide the CCTV footage because the place he claimed has CCTV.I am a local government chairman,I do not want the public to view me as a criminal. I am handling this matter with utmost care,” he stated.
He said that he believes that the criticism against him stems from his refusal to support Afam’s attempt to prematurely end his brother’s contract.
“They accuse me of fighting Governor Charles Soludo over this park issue, which is entirely false,”
“When I saw reports claiming I was at odds with the governor, I was surprised. I have no involvement in the park dispute. The conflict is between the two brothers, A.C. Uzoegwu and Afam Uzoegwu. They have taken their fight to the police and courts. In fact, a court has ruled that Afam should not enter the park, yet he continues to pursue the matter. Dragging me into this crisis is unjust,” Nkwoka added.
He also disclosed that structures established by A.C. Uzoegwu at the park have been vandalized by Afam, despite a court order barring Afam from entering the premises.
Reports indicate that some individuals have accused the chairman of being aware of obsolete agreements involving Obinna Uzoegwu and Chikeluba Omaliko. However, Nkwoka denies the claim, that such outdated contracts are being deliberately revived to create division and unrest within the community.
