2025: Anglican Priest Denies Endorsing Soludo, Backs Chukwuma, YPP for Victory
Rev. Canon Lumen Kristy Eboh, Anglican priest and Convener of God in Action Adoration Ministry, has publicly dismissed reports claiming he endorsed Governor Charles Soludo for a second term.
Instead, he confidently predicted victory for Sir Paul Chukwuma and his running mate Uzu Okagbue of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
Speaking during a night vigil adoration, Rev. Eboh lamented that Governor Soludo’s administration has exacerbated the hardships faced by the people of Anambra State, criticizing the government for losing sight of the needs of ordinary citizens.
In contrast, he expressed strong confidence in the YPP candidates, describing Sir Paul Chukwuma and Uzu Okagbue as leaders who govern and will continue to govern with the fear of God. He noted that their administration would bring about transformative leadership that will make Anambra State “shine like a thousand stars.”
Responding to Rev. Eboh’s endorsement, YPP running mate Uzu Okagbue emphasized Sir Paul Chukwuma’s readiness to govern with humility, purpose, and compassion qualities he argued are lacking in the current administration.
Okagbue reassured the congregation that under their leadership, petty traders and small business owners would no longer be overburdened by excessive taxation, a common complaint under Soludo’s government. Instead, their administration would foster the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Anambra, creating new opportunities and strengthening existing businesses.
Okagbue further pledged to address the persistent insecurity that has plagued the state, promising that such challenges would become a thing of the past under the incoming YPP administration. This assurance was met with enthusiastic approval from the congregation.
Earlier this year, rumors circulated that Canon Lumen Kristy Eboh had endorsed Governor Soludo. However, on Friday, the priest emphatically clarified his position, boldly saying that a change of government is imminent in November and that the YPP is poised to succeed Soludo’s administration.
