The Tenant–Landlord Association of Odume, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, has formally endorsed the re-election bid of the incumbent governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for the upcoming November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.
The endorsement came during a well-attended town hall meeting held on Wednesday in Obosi, which drew a diverse mix of residents, community leaders, and political stakeholders.
The gathering expressed collective support for Governor Soludo, citing his administration’s track record of performance and people-oriented policies as key reasons behind their decision.
Participants at the meeting commended the governor’s strides in infrastructure, education, and security, and pledged to mobilize grassroots support to ensure a landslide victory at the polls.
In his remarks, Hon. Ifeanyi Okoma, Anambra State Commissioner for Works, urged residents to turn out en masse on election day to vote for what he described as “a transformational leader whose governance model is delivering real dividends of democracy.”
He also stressed the importance of electoral vigilance, urging voters to remain at their polling units to ensure that their votes are counted transparently and without interference.
“Protect your vote. Don’t allow it to be counted outside the polling unit. “Come out in large numbers and let your voice be heard in support of good governance.”Okoma stated.
The Chairman of the Tenant–Landlord Association, Hon. Innocent Agucha, used the opportunity to call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure the early delivery of election materials, especially ballot boxes, to Odume.
“Odume has one of the highest voter populations in this area,” “The delays we experienced in the last election must not happen again. Timely deployment of electoral materials is critical to inclusive participation.”Agucha said.
The meeting also featured passionate testimonies from members, including Mrs. Ijeoma Christian, who shared a harrowing experience from a previous by-election.
According to her, she faced threats to her life after rejecting a ₦200,000 bribe intended to sway the outcome of the vote.
“I almost lost my life because I refused to be used to rig an election. “All we are asking for is adequate security so that we can continue to uphold democratic values without fear.” she added.
The event was marked by a strong sense of unity and purpose, with participants declaring their readiness to work tirelessly toward Governor Soludo’s re-election. The association affirmed its belief that continuity under Soludo’s leadership would further deepen development gains and consolidate on the administration’s achievements.
As the 2025 polls draw closer, the people of Odume Obosi have made their position clear: they stand firmly behind a candidate they believe has delivered and will continue to deliver progress for Anambra State.
