Professor Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has received a high performance rating from the university community comprising critical stakeholders, students, alumni, and staff, in a recent public opinion poll.

The poll which was conducted on the university’s official facebook page, evaluated her performance in three categories: “very good “good and “poor.”

The voting, which lasted for 48 hours, had a total of 1,252 respondents. 78% (977) rated Prof. Arinze-Umobi’s performance as Very Good, while 15% (188) rated her as Good and 6% (86) rated her performance asPoor.

The overwhelming percentage of “very good” is a true reflection to her exceptional leadership and vision.

Since assuming office on May 19, 2025, as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Arinze-Umobi has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her vision, feeling the pulse of students, staff and finding solutions. Her missions through her vision have addressed long-standing challenges, including the provision of solar-powered boreholes, lighting, and internet access for students. Other notable achievements include the installation of solar-powered streetlights in both the Awka campus and Mbakwu, as well as the construction of entrance roads at the Okofia campus, among other projects.

These accomplishments have earned Prof. Arinze-Umobi an exceptional rating as well as promoting institutional excellence.

As she continues to serve the university community and beyond, Prof. Arinze-Umobi remains committed to providing more services in human development and academic excellence to the university.
