ECOWAS-Sponsored Training on Taenprowiz Fish Production Business Model Kicks Off in Anambra

The second batch of the ECOWAS-sponsored youth training on the Taenprowiz Fish Production Business System and Technology has commenced in Anambra State.

Under the ECOWAS Youth Employability Project (ECOWAS YEP), 200 youths have been selected for this phase of the Taenprowiz training.

Eligible participants include Nigerian citizens and citizens of other ECOWAS countries, between the ages of 18 and 35.

According to our correspondent, the training began with a formal onboarding process that included both digital and manual documentation for the successful candidates.

This followed a rigorous three-month selection process involving nominations, application reviews, response collation, and final shortlisting.

What is Taenprowiz?
Taenprowiz is a patented, comprehensive business solution—comprising both a system and technology designed for fish production. It encompasses business goal setting, investment literacy, operational planning, financial education, and practical cash flow management, all specifically tailored to the fish farming industry.

Throughout a series of virtual and physical sessions, trainees are introduced to the fundamentals of business development, including ideation and business concept formulation. This covers areas such as product or service definition, customer targeting, value proposition development, and distribution channels. In addition, trainees are taught the core principles behind the Taenprowiz Fish Production Business System and Technology, which functions as a type of computer-based operating system.

During the first physical session, held at the Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency (FABDA) Office Complex in Awka, participants were introduced to the foundational principles, processes, and protocols for developing a functional table fish production business—from ideation through to business plan development.

Training Objectives
Mr. Emeka Iloghalu, Managing Director and CEO of FABDA—and the Training Coordinator—explained that the program is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of key concepts such as throughput, inventory, and operating expenses within the contexts of table fish, broodstock, and seed fish production.

“The trainees will be able to apply the throughput concept to production planning for table fish farming,” “They will also learn to align their operational work plans with cash flow requirements, using throughput to generate an actionable operations business model and plan.”Iloghalu said.

He added that the program will enable trainees to develop financial and investment forecasts to model business growth from the outset.

Iloghalu emphasized that, upon completing the training and mastering protocols such as seed fish stocking, feeding, grading, water management, and harvesting, the youths will be ready for immediate employment or entrepreneurial engagement in the fish farming industry.

“Successful trainees will be employable in any standard table fish production business or farm, capable of participating in cooperative fish ventures, or even ready to launch their own fish farming enterprises,” he said.

Regional Economic Impact
Iloghalu also noted that the ECOWAS Commission sees this initiative as a strategic step toward increasing youth participation in fish farming and agribusiness across the region.

The blue economy and agricultural sectors, he explained, are critical areas with significant potential for job creation, wealth generation, and food security.

FABDA, he said, remains committed to its mandate of industrializing the fisheries and aquaculture sector in Anambra State. One of its strategic goals is to achieve an annual table fish production target of 51 million kilograms to ensure self-sufficiency.

“This is why we are focusing on youth training at this stage, using the only existing business solution for fish production—the Taenprowiz Fish Production Business System and Technology,” Iloghalu emphasized.

Many of the youth trainees expressed joy and enthusiasm at being selected for the ECOWAS Taenprowiz Fish Production Business Training, describing it as a timely and valuable opportunity.
