As the November 8, 2025 Anambra governorship election draws near, the Ebonyi State indigenes residing in Anambra under the aegis of Ebonyi Solution Marshall have officially endorsed Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for a second term in office.

The group, widely recognized as the largest non-indigenous community in Anambra, made this declaration during a grand solidarity rally held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha. The event also featured members of the transport sector under the banner of the Transport Sector Solidarity Rally for Governor Soludo, who likewise pledged their support for the governor’s re-election bid.

Addressing attendees at the rally, the President General of Ebonyi Solution Marshalls, Chief Chukwuma Otubelu popularly known as Akusinaobi Chukwu and CEO of Herd Foam, Hero Foam, and Chuks Foam—stated that more than 50,000 Ebonyi indigenes residing across Anambra’s 21 local government areas and 326 wards are registered voters with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

He affirmed that the group would fully mobilize to support Soludo’s re-election, citing the governor’s inclusive governance and people-centered policies.

“Long before now, we made sure every eligible Ebonyi voter in Anambra obtained a PVC—because that is our power,”  “We are backing Soludo because we have benefited more from his administration than from any government before him. Our people have enjoyed free education, free maternity services, and improved infrastructure—all thanks to his leadership.”Chief Otubelu said.

Otubelu further noted that Governor Soludo’s administration rehabilitated Abakaliki Street in Awka—a symbolically important area for Ebonyi residents—and transformed the once-dilapidated Okpoko district in Onitsha, home to a large Ebonyi population, into a more livable urban neighborhood.

“Our people will continue to pray for him and support him with all we have,” he added.

Also speaking at the rally, Chief Monday Nwokoye popularly known as Ikemba Okpoto and Director of the Special Anti-Touting Squad in Anambra State—described Ebonyi residents as a significant electoral bloc.

“Ebonyi indigenes constitute 40 percent of Anambra’s voting population. We will deliver 100 percent of our votes to Soludo,” he declared.

Deputy President General of the group, Mr. Benjamin Okoro, emphasized the governor’s deep ties to Ebonyi, noting that Soludo spent part of his formative years in Nkalagu, Ebonyi State.

“Soludo is our brother. He understands our people. We will not only vote for him but also protect our votes,” Okoro said.

Echoing this sentiment, Ambassador Moses Igwe, President General of the Ebonyi Town Unions Association, Anambra State chapter, said the collective decision to support Soludo was rooted in the visible projects and policies that have positively impacted Ebonyi residents in the state.

Reinforcing the group’s stance, Comrade Chinedu Itumo—Youth Leader of Ebonyi Solution Marshall in Ogbaru LGA and President General of the Ezzea Ezekuna Assembly—pledged the unwavering support of Ebonyi youths for Soludo’s second-term bid.

Chairing the occasion was Chief (Dr.) Godwin Ubaka Okeke, Chairman of GUO Group of Companies, represented by Chief Nelson Enendu. He described Soludo as a result-driven leader with no credible challenger in the forthcoming election.

“Since Soludo has done well with the responsibilities given to him, he deserves even greater ones. The people have seen his good works,” Okeke remarked.

In his address, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade), Comrade Celestine Aniere, said the massive turnout reflected widespread public approval of Soludo’s administration.

“Governor Soludo continues to enjoy overwhelming support because his transformative policies have positively touched lives across all segments of society,” Aniere added.

The endorsement by Ebonyi Solution Marshalls adds significant momentum to Governor Soludo’s re-election campaign, reflecting his growing support among both indigenous and non-indigenous residents across Anambra State.
