Soludo’s Supporters in Nteje Celebrate Governor’s Landslide Victory, Task Him on Greater Development Efforts
Supporters of the Governor of Anambra State have celebrated the landslide victory recorded by Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in the election held two Saturdays ago.
The supporters, who converged in Nteje, urged the governor to redouble his efforts in developing all parts of the state so as to justify the confidence reposed in him through his re-election.
They gathered at the palace of the traditional ruler-elect of the community, Chief Chris Nnebo, where they danced, celebrated, and expressed gratitude for the success recorded at the polls.
Speaking to journalists during the event, the Igwe-elect, Chief Nnebo, said:
“The governor has done well, and that is why the entire Anambra voted for him two weeks ago. Our charge to him is to maintain the tempo of his work and even step it up, to justify the trust that the people of Anambra have in him, which led to his re-election. We are also urging him to carry everyone along as he begins this new mandate.”
Earlier, while addressing the supporters, he explained:“We are gathered here to celebrate the governor’s victory in last two Saturday’s election. We are not just his supporters but also committed members of APGA (All Progressives Grand Alliance). I invited you not only to celebrate but to thank you for the hard work you put in to ensure that the entire Nteje—comprising five wards and 63 polling units—voted for APGA.”
A Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media, Chief Chidiebele Obika, who is also from Nteje, commended Soludo for the numerous projects already executed in the community. He also highlighted additional road projects that he appealed to the governor to consider.
He stated: “We have five political wards in Nteje community and 63 polling units. It may interest you to know that Nteje people voted for Soludo in all five wards and all 63 polling units; not a single unit was won by another party. Our brother from the neighbouring Umueri community was also in the race and fought hard, but Nteje people remained resolute in supporting APGA, the governor’s party. In appreciation, we decided to gather here at the home of our leader, Chief Chris Nnebo, who is both the leader of our party in this community and the Igwe-elect, so we could thank our people properly.”
