Bishop Ezeofor to FG: Let Your Policies Touch Lives of Nigerians
Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor
The Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Aguata, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, has urged the Federal Government to place greater emphasis on programmes and projects that have direct and positive impact on the lives of the masses.
The Bishop made the call in his Christmas message, where he lamented the severe hardships Nigerians are currently facing.
He attributed these challenges largely to poor economic policies and called on the government to urgently adopt practical measures that would alleviate the suffering of the people.
Right Reverend Ezeofor, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion (EFAC), Nigeria, expressed deep concern over the rising cases of kidnapping and banditry across the country.
He described the situation as a consequence of widespread insecurity and urged the government to implement strategic and comprehensive measures to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.
According to him, restoring security is critical to rebuilding public confidence and renewing hope in the Nigerian project.
Speaking extensively on the significance of Christmas, the Bishop emphasized that the season should serve as a reminder of love, sacrifice, and compassion.
He called on affluent individuals to remember the downtrodden during the Christmas season and beyond, stressing the importance of generosity and empathy in society.
He further urged Nigerians to engage in activities that promote peace and harmonious coexistence, warning against actions capable of eroding the true meaning and essence of Christmas.
The message, which was signed by the Director of Media and Communications of the Diocese of Aguata Anglican Communion, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor, also encouraged Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith and trust in God despite the daunting challenges confronting the nation.
The Bishop reminded citizens that every problem has an expiry date and expressed optimism for a better future.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a joyful Christmas celebration and a prosperous year 2026.
