The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Life Compassionate Orphanage Home, Obosi, Dr. Ogazi Maxwell Chika, has received a Humanitarian Service Award from members of the National Community Policing Campaign (NCPC).
The award presentation took place in his office located in the Obosi community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The event was attended by his staff, the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Obosi Police Station, the Officer in Charge of the Juvenile and Welfare Centre, Precious Ahamba, among others.

Speaking shortly before the presentation, the Anambra State Chairman of NCPC, Elder Christopher Madueke, explained that the organization’s duty is to prevent crime and educate the public on the inherent dangers of engaging in criminal activities.
He further stated that the NCPC is an operational arm of the Community Crime Sensitization Centre and works closely with the Nigeria Police Force, the National Anti-Corruption Coalition (NACC), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Elder Madueke also emphasized that the organization identifies and honours individuals who have been carefully screened and found worthy of recognition.
He stressed that not everyone qualifies for the award, but only those who have made significant contributions to crime prevention and humanitarian services.

“Your name was brought to us by our desk officers and approved due to your numerous activities and outstanding performance, especially in the area of humanitarian services both in Obosi and beyond. We are aware of your positive impact, and NCPC found you worthy of this award. On the day of sensitization, we will notify the public. We move from place to place—markets, schools, and churches—carrying out our campaigns,”
“Crime does not pay. There is no gain in committing crime. We have seen the effects of crime in Nigeria, and everyone is affected.”Elder Madueke stated.
Presenting the award, the Executive Director of NCPC, Deacon Dr. K. O. Uba, described it as both a form of encouragement and a means of rewarding hardworking individuals.
He noted that community policing predates the introduction of conventional policing in Nigeria, affirming that the organization collaborates closely with the Nigeria Police Force, NACC, and ICPC.
In his appreciation remarks, Chief Dr. Ogazi expressed gratitude to NCPC members, stating that he was overwhelmed with joy and accepted the award in good faith.
He noted that his orphanage is one of only four approved out of 64 orphanage homes recognized by the Anambra State Government.
He added that he singlehandedly built a church for the orphanage and urged people to be cautious and abstain from evil practices.
“I do not engage in fraudulent practices. I have rescued many children. Whoever engages in doing good, may God bless that person, and may those who do evil face the consequences of their actions. I sincerely thank you for this award. It is not easy to be recognized. I promise to do my best to promote NCPC,” Chief Dr. Ogazi stated.
Among the NCPC members present at the event were the Executive Director, Deacon Dr. K. O. Uba; State Chairman, Elder Christopher Madueke; Administrative Officer, Peter Onyeshi; Mr. Chinwuba Timothy Amuchie; Comrade Oyoke Prince; Mr. Philip Nwite; and human rights activist, Comrade Obinna.
