Activist Lambasts Justice Ozobi Over Comments Against OCHA Brigade

Human rights activist, Comrade Onyebuchi Cosmos Uwanne, has lambasted Justice Ozobi over a report he allegedly made against Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade).

He stated that Justice Ozobi, on his Facebook page, alleged that OCHA Brigade operatives are arresting people for throwing waste and taking them to unknown destinations.

Addressing journalists in Onitsha, Activist Uwanne described the report credited to Justice Ozobi as false and unfounded, adding that Ozobi should be identified and arrested to face the law.

Uwanne further expressed concern over why some individuals hide behind social media to fabricate lies in order to create confusion and suspicion about OCHA Brigade operatives carrying out their legitimate duties.

He said he was deeply pained when he read the report on Facebook, noting that some individuals are still peddling falsehoods despite the progress made in repositioning the state over the past four years.
“When I read the report, I was saddened, but I realized that the writer is wicked and an enemy of Anambra State. In fact, some people are devils disguised as human beings. Does this mean that some people still want Anambra State to remain lawless as it was before?”
“Today, they speak against the OCHA Brigade. Tomorrow, it will be SASA; next, it will be ARTMA. This is an attempt to drag Anambra State back to the old system, but it cannot succeed. Anyway, I trust Soludo’s administration,” he added.
He, however, noted that even if waste bins were not provided, people should not litter the environment indiscriminately. He also pointed out that waste bins have been placed at strategic locations in Upper Iweka and its environs.
Uwanne called on the general public to disregard what he described as malicious reports against Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade). He urged residents to make proper use of the waste bins provided at various locations for waste disposal.
“Please, if you cannot comply with the environmental laws of Anambra State, stop visiting the state or vacate it. Otherwise, if you litter the environment, you will be arrested by the OCHA Brigade. Other states have their own laws, yet we do not hear people speaking carelessly about them. Be warned!” the activist said.
