UNIZIK Signs MOU with Chaudhary Devi Lal University, India
Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Haryana, India.
The MOU is aimed at fostering collaboration and mutual support in the promotion of teaching and learning, research, and development.
The MOU signing ceremony, which was conducted live online in real time, marks a significant step toward promoting global academic excellence, research cooperation, and cultural exchange.
The partnership covers a wide range of joint activities, including exchange programmes, educational resource sharing, collaborative research, and other academic partnerships.
Speaking during the online ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, highlighted the immense potential of the institution based on available statistical data.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration with Chaudhary Devi Lal University would further enhance institutional growth and staff development.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Prof. Vijay Kumar, gave a brief history of the institution, noting that it was named after a former Deputy Prime Minister of India.
He expressed delight at the coincidence that both universities were named after distinguished statesmen who served their people creditably.
He further observed that the collaboration with UNIZIK holds great prospects and pledged his institution’s commitment to supporting the partnership for the mutual benefit of both universities.
The ceremony was facilitated by Prof. Charles Nwadigwe, Director of International Collaboration and Linkages, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and Prof. Anu Shukla, Dean of International Relations and Foreign Affairs, Chaudhary Devi Lal University.
During the online ceremony, both Vice-Chancellors signed their respective copies of the MOU live, while staff members present witnessed and applauded the event.
The event was also witnessed by Dr. Mirian Alike of the Department of Philosophy, who provided communication support during the collaboration negotiations.
