Anambra APC Denies Interference in Renewed Hope Agenda, Alleges Cyberbullying of Chairman

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied allegations circulating on social media that its State Chairman, Sen. Emma Anosike, is interfering in the appointment of key officers of the Renewed Hope Agenda in Anambra North Senatorial District.
The party also raised concerns over what it described as calculated attempts by certain disgruntled individuals and groups to cyberbully the state chairman and tarnish his reputation through coordinated online attacks.
The allegations followed reports claiming that Anosike had suspended one Mr. Arinze Awogu from his position as Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda in Anambra North Senatorial District.
However, in a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Sir Iyke Oliobi, the party described the allegations as baseless, misleading and entirely unfounded.
According to him, the claims are part of a deliberate campaign aimed at distracting the party from its preparations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The said post did not emanate from the Office of the State Chairman, nor was it authorised by the party at the state level. It is not a statement of the party,” the
“The only persons constitutionally empowered to issue official pronouncements or press releases on behalf of the party are the State Chairman, who is the leader of the party in the state, and the State Publicity Secretary, who serves as the party’s official spokesperson.”statement said.
The APC further alleged that the publication was orchestrated by some expelled members of the party, including Mr. Arinze Awogu, who had previously instituted legal actions against the party.
The statement recalled that at the party’s state meeting held at the APC Secretariat on Friday, June 12, 2026, and attended by all 326 Ward Chairmen, local government officials, zonal and state executives, as well as party stakeholders, members ratified the expulsion of seven individuals from the party.
According to the APC, those expelled include Sir Arinze Awogu, Barr. Richard Egenti, Mr. Ifeanyi Osegbo, Engr. Chukwudi Kenneth Orji, Hon. Engr. Tony Uche Ezekwesili, Hon. Ossy Nwoye and Mrs. Uju Onyeañusi.
The party explained that the affected members were sanctioned for instituting court actions against the APC without first exhausting the internal conflict-resolution mechanisms provided under the party’s constitution.
“The meeting did not discuss, nor did it make any pronouncement on, the Renewed Hope Agenda or any other support group affiliated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as such groups are not organs of the party and their internal affairs are outside the party’s jurisdiction,”
“Consequently, the party has neither made nor authorised any announcement concerning the Renewed Hope Agenda or any other non-party organisation.”the statement noted.
The APC therefore urged members of the public to disregard the publication and treat it as misinformation intended to create disaffection within the party.
The party further disclosed that investigations have commenced to determine the source of the publication, adding that decisive legal action would be taken against those responsible for what it described as cyberbullying, impersonation and libel against the State Chairman.
“The party is already investigating the originators of the post and will take all necessary legal actions against those found culpable for impersonation, cyberbullying and defamation,” the statement added.
