Chief Sir Primus Odili, a former aide to the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie M. Obiano, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the former governor, describing their relationship as one founded on mentorship, trust and enduring friendship beyond the vicissitudes of politics.
Odili made this declaration after visiting Obiano and his wife, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, at their residence in Spring, Texas, United States, on Sunday.
The visit, which took place during Odili’s trip to Texas for the 50th birthday celebration of one of his daughters, was also attended by respected elder, Engr. Pius Idigo (Owelle Aguleri), and Chief Emma Uba (Akilika Aguleri).
In a statement issued on November 2, Odili described the meeting as a memorable occasion, expressing delight at seeing the former governor and his wife in good health and high spirits.
He said the gathering provided an opportunity to reconnect, share laughter and reminisce about experiences from their time together, including the challenges and lessons that shaped their lives.
“His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, has never been merely a political principal to me. He has been a mentor, an elder brother, and a steady source of counsel,” Odili said.
He also praised Mrs. Obiano for her warmth and kindness towards him and his family, stressing that their relationship had endured beyond political convenience.
Odili said the visit was not intended to draw attention to a private encounter but that the moments captured during the meeting reflected the enduring bond between him and the former governor.
“Loyalty is not a slogan. It is a quiet but consistent posture that a servant maintains towards his boss,” he said.
According to him, the visit demonstrated that genuine relationships built on trust and mutual respect could withstand political changes and the passage of time.
“Yesterday, in a home far from the noise of Anambra politics, with no ticket at stake and no audience to impress, the truth of that relationship needed no evidence. It simply is,” he added.
Odili reaffirmed his identity as a son of Aguleri, a loyal friend to Obiano and a servant of his people, expressing confidence that truth would ultimately prevail.
He concluded with a message of enduring loyalty and affection for the former governor and the people of Anambra State.
