We Sacked Bandits Controlling Two Abia LGAs –Governor Otti

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has revealed that parts of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Local Government Areas were previously under the control of criminal elements before the inception of his administration.

He also disclosed that his government has spent over N40 billion on the payment of arrears of salaries and pensions.

Otti made this known on Thursday at the Umuahia Township Stadium during the celebration of his second year in office.

According to him, the residents of the affected communities fled their homes, while those living in urban areas were afraid to return.

Highlighting the achievements of his administration over the past two years, Otti stated that the “Operation Crush” combined security team, which he established, successfully dislodged the bandits from the two LGAs, thereby liberating the people and reclaiming their land.

The governor commended the efforts of the Nigerian Army, the police, and other security agencies for ensuring improved security in Abia State.

He also pledged to sustain his administration’s logistical support to these agencies.

While expressing gratitude to the people of Abia for their continued support, Otti celebrated the transformation of Abia from being regarded as one of the dirtiest states in Nigeria to a much cleaner environment. .

He urged residents to maintain this new culture of cleanliness.

He further announced that several projects completed by his administration will be commissioned for use starting from June 2025.
