Faiths United: Agbodike Lauds Soludo’s Chaplain’s Ecumenical Efforts

The Member of the House of Representatives for Ihiala Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike, has commended the Chaplain to the Anambra State Governor, Rev. Fr. Raphael Onyekwelu, for his outstanding efforts in promoting religious ecumenism and fostering interdenominational tolerance within the state.

Speaking on Sunday, June 1st, during the celebration of Rev. Fr. Onyekwelu’s birthday, Agbodike described the cleric as a unifying figure among the various Christian denominations in Anambra.

He noted that the chaplain has played a pivotal role in bridging divides and nurturing mutual respect across religious lines.

According to Agbodike, Rev. Fr. Onyekwelu’s proximity to the governor has helped to eliminate barriers between denominations.

He noted that under the chaplain’s influence, groups such as Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Pentecostals, and others are working collaboratively for the collective good of Anambra State.

This, he said, is a clear indication that the chaplain is faithfully fulfilling his duties without bias or prejudice.

The federal lawmaker also highlighted that Rev. Fr. Onyekwelu has institutionalized inclusivity by ensuring that all denominations are granted recognition and opportunity to conduct their worship services at the Government House. He remarked that such structured participation of diverse Christian groups is unprecedented in the history of Anambra State.

Agbodike concluded by wishing Rev. Fr. Raphael Onyekwelu affectionately known as Fr. Ogbuefi,a long life and many more fruitful years in his ministry. He praised the chaplain’s continued efforts to advance religious harmony and understanding among Christians in the state.
