The people of Atani Kingdom gathered in grand celebration as His Royal Highness, Igwe Azuka Augustine Ngoddy (Eze Ogwugwie II of Atani Idu-Na-Oba), marked the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the throne during the 2nd Ofala Festival.
The festival, which coincided with the Christian season of Advent, was filled with pageantry, thanksgiving, and vibrant cultural displays.
In his address, Igwe Ngoddy expressed deep gratitude to God for bestowing peace, grace, and divine mercy throughout his reign.
He warmly welcomed guests, including dignitaries, in-laws, friends, and citizens and acknowledged their role in preserving and celebrating the shared heritage of Atani.
“This day has become a reality because we planned it, and the Almighty God approved it,” “May the merciful God, who has granted us His divine peace, continue to bless and guide us.”the Igwe declared.
The 2nd Ofala Festival also marked ten years and one month since the inaugural edition, which was held in November 2014, shortly after Igwe Ngoddy’s coronation as the 16th Eze of Atani.
Reflecting on the past decade, the Monarch emphasized the values that have defined his leadership to include courageous humility, genuine love for one another, and a steadfast commitment to community unity over division.
Quoting ancient Chinese wisdom, the Monarch likened the ten-year journey of leadership to a thousand-mile trek characterized by reflection, growth, and service.
“It seems entirely appropriate to ask the fundamental question: how far have we come?” he asked.
He reiterated the vision he shared during his maiden Ofala address to live, to learn, to love, and to leave a legacy. This vision, he noted, has become the cornerstone of his reign and the guiding light for the Atani community.
The celebration concluded with heartfelt expressions of gratitude and prayer, as the Monarch prayed for the safe return of all attendees and invoked blessings in the name of Jesus Christ.
