Tinubu Mourns Mike Ejeagha, Celebrates Icon’s Enduring Cultural Impact

President Bola Tinubu has joined millions of Nigerians in mourning the death of Gentleman Mike Ejeagha, the legendary Igbo folklorist, songwriter, and musician.
Mike Ejeagha passed away on Friday at the age of 95.
President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and fans of the late cultural icon.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu reflected on Ejeagha’s remarkable contributions to the preservation of Igbo culture through his music and storytelling.
“May the spirit and values of Gentleman Mike Ejeagha’s music continue to remind us that music has the power to revive, heal, and redirect energy toward worthy causes that help build our nation,” the President said.
President Tinubu also commended the Enugu State Government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, for honouring the music legend during his lifetime.
Praying for peace for the departed soul, President Tinubu asked God Almighty to grant eternal rest to Mike Ejeagha and to comfort all who mourn his loss.
