I’ll Crush Insecurity , Ignite Business Boom in Anambra–Paul Chukwuma

Sir Paul Chukwuma

The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma (Onwa Umueri), has promised to prioritize the restoration of law and order across all parts of the state if elected.

According to him, the state is currently experiencing seemingly insurmountable insecurity challenges, which hinder efforts to boost business activities—especially Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that drive Anambra’s economy.

Sir Paul Chukwuma made this promise during a visit hosted by the founder of Mega Abbattoir and Suya Spot, located in the heart of Enugwu-Ukwu town, Chief Michael Onyeka Obidi (Akuenwebe).

Impressed by Chief Obidi’s entrepreneurial resilience, Sir Paul Chukwuma noted that despite the harsh business environment in the state, Mega Abbattoir is thriving remarkably.

The elated YPP governorship candidate for the November 8 election in Anambra State added that, if elected governor, his administration would create a secure environment necessary to revive Anambra’s lost nightlife.

He further envisioned that ventures like Mega Abbattoir would be replicated across many towns and suburbs in Anambra, which would not only expand the state’s productivity but also create more jobs for Ndi Anambra.

Sir Paul Chukwuma also promised to ease the excessive tax burden currently placed on many MSMEs by the Soludo administration.

“In Anambra today, it is sad that businesses especially MSMEs are being harassed by multiple government agencies to pay all manner of taxes and levies. These funds eventually find their way into the private pockets of the many revenue contractors employed by the Soludo administration to complicate tax collection. This makes running a business in Anambra very draining,”

“When you factor in the insecurity that forces businesses to close early, one begins to wonder how Anambra intends to become a serious economic giant. It is disheartening that by 7 pm, almost every city or town in Anambra is deserted as people rush home. Movement between communities becomes risky. How can economic activities thrive in such an environment?

“Instead of focusing on issues that matter to the majority of Ndi Anambra, the present state government has chosen to spend unnamed billions building swimming pools and ‘jangleovers’ in Awka. Is it not someone who has fed his family that will have time and money to go swim in Soludo’s pools or swing in his jangleovers?” Paul Chukwuma queried.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the CEO of Mega Abbattoir and Suya Spot, who also owns Choice Kitchens, expressed personal gratitude to the YPP governorship candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, describing him as one of his greatest pillars in business.

Chief Obidi, a strong YPP supporter, said that Sir Paul Chukwuma understands what it means to run a business and the challenges entrepreneurs in Anambra face, especially due to the failure of the state government to create a conducive environment for businesses.

The Deputy Governorship candidate of YPP, Chief Uzu Okagbue (Ezennia), in his remarks, decried the growing hardship in Anambra, with disposable incomes shrinking daily due to declining productivity.

He promised Ndi Anambra that under a YPP government led by Sir Paul Chukwuma as governor and himself as deputy governor, Anambra State will rise again.

The YPP governorship candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, his running mate Chief Uzuegbuna Okagbue, and members of the YPP campaign team were treated to a rousing and electric reception at the Mega Abbattoir and Suya Spot in Enugwu-Ukwu.
