2025:Anti-Soludo Claims Crumble as Hausa Community Declares Full Support

Hausa Community community in Anambra State

The Hausa Community in Anambra State has strongly refuted claims attributed to one Hussaini Haruna, who recently alleged that the community opposes the re-election of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the upcoming November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election.

In a press briefing held in Onitsha, the commercial nerve center of the state, the Sarkin Hausawan Onitsha, Alhaji Iliyasu Yushau, described the publication titled “Hausa Community Rejects Soludo” as false, misleading, and malicious.

He said that Mr. Hussaini Haruna neither holds any recognized leadership position nor has the mandate to speak on behalf of the Hausa or broader Arewa communities in Anambra State.

“The so-called Hussaini Haruna is unknown to us. He is not a leader of the Hausa community in Anambra, and his statement does not reflect our collective position. We completely dissociate ourselves from his comments,” Alhaji Yushau declared.

He reaffirmed the Hausa community’s unwavering support for Governor Soludo’s administration, praising him for his inclusive governance, commitment to security, infrastructural development, and prudent economic management.

“Governor Soludo has demonstrated exemplary leadership by ensuring no group is marginalized in Anambra. His administration has embraced all residents regardless of ethnic or regional background,” the Sarkin Hausawa stated.

Echoing this stance, Alhaji Yushau Imam, General Coordinator of the Association of Northern Youths Resident in Anambra State, expressed disappointment over the false representation by Mr. Haruna. He unequivocally denounced the attempt to sow discord within the community.

“We do not know Mr. Hussaini Haruna, and he is certainly not our spokesperson. No meetings have been held with him, and he does not represent our views. His actions are condemnable,” Alhaji Imam said.

He further stated that Northern youths residing in Anambra remain fully aligned with the vision of Governor Soludo and will mobilize support to ensure his re-election.

“Governor Soludo has provided an enabling environment for all ethnic groups in Anambra. We appreciate his efforts in promoting unity, security, and development. Our loyalty to his administration is solid and unshaken,” he added.

The Hausa and wider Northern communities in Anambra are known for their long-standing peaceful coexistence and economic contribution to the state. This latest affirmation of support strengthens Governor Soludo’s re-election campaign and underscores his administration’s credibility across ethnic lines.
