The senatorial candidate of the Action Alliance for the Anambra South by-election, Hon. Chijioke Onyekaonwu
The senatorial candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) for the upcoming Anambra South by-election, Hon. Chijioke Onyekaonwu, has called on voters to vote for him at the polls on Saturday, August 16, 2025. He urged the electorate to remain vigilant and refuse to sell their votes, warning that vote-buying undermines genuine democratic representation.
“Vote buying and selling erode the foundation of true representation. When a politician pays for your vote, they believe they have already settled you and you lose the moral right to demand amenities or accountability,”
“Whoever buys your vote will also sell you out. Let us reject this transactional politics and demand true leadership that values our voices and our future. That is what I represent”he stated.
It is clear that as the by-election approaches, the Action Alliance is positioning Onyekaonwu as the candidate best equipped to offer transparent, accountable, and people-driven leadership. Campaigning under the slogan “Let the masses live,”.
Onyekaonwu promised to prioritize grassroots engagement and ensure that every project is shaped by the needs of the people not the interests of the elite.
“My campaign and manifesto are rooted in transparency and accountability,” “My vision is clear,to provide effective representation that serves the people, not personal ambition.”he stated.
If elected, Onyekaonwu pledged to hold regular consultations with constituents to understand their needs and ensure that policies, projects, and services are directly beneficial to the community.
He also vowed to champion policies that uplift marginalized groups and hold those in power accountable.
“In a bid to undermine this vision, corrupt opponents are resorting to vote buying,” he reiterated. “But we must resist. Whoever buys your vote today will sell you out tomorrow.” he added.
He called on voters to vote him on August 16 in choosing quality representation over self-interest and political manipulation.
“The people of Anambra South have a choice to make. Let us stand together for a Senate that reflects our aspirations and protects our collective interests.” he added.
