The former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has extended warm felicitations to the people of Abia State as the state marks the 34th anniversary of its creation.

Dr. Ogah described the anniversary as a moment for reflection, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to the destiny of God’s Own State.

In a goodwill message issued from his country home in Onuaku Uturu on Tuesday, Dr. Ogah commended the resilience and resourcefulness of Ndi Abia, stating that the state’s journey since its creation has been marked by trials, triumphs, and unwavering hope.

“Today, we celebrate not just the birth of Abia, but the enduring spirit of our people. In moments of challenge, we have remained strong; in times of change, we have embraced progress; and in every season, we have carried the hope of a brighter tomorrow. Indeed, Abia is blessed with industrious sons and daughters, and I believe strongly that our best days are still ahead,” he stated.

Dr. Ogah also praised the contributions of past and present leaders for their roles in the growth and development of the state.

He urged Abians to remain united in purpose and to be guided by the values of hard work, integrity, and service.

Emphasizing the need for greater investment in industrial growth, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development, the former minister noted that these are the pillars of sustainable progress.

Dr. Ogah expressed confidence that with visionary leadership and the collective will of the people, Abia will continue to rise and fulfill the noble dreams of its founding fathers.

“On this historic day, I felicitate with every son and daughter of Abia—both at home and in the diaspora. Let us keep faith in God and in the destiny of our dear state. Together, we will achieve the greatness we seek and ensure that Abia continues to stand tall as God’s Own State,” he added.
