You Can Go to Kaduna or Other States to Contest, Soludo Has Taken Anambra–PG Umueri

By RAYMOND OZOJI

The President-General of the Umueri General Assembly in Anambra East Local Government Area, Chief (Amb.) Dr. John Metchie—a United Nations Peace Ambassador and international business mogul has urged other aspirants in the upcoming November 8 governorship election to consider contesting in Kaduna or other states, asserting that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has effectively “taken” Anambra State.

Metchie, who is currently mobilizing grassroots support for Governor Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, declared unequivocally that there is “no vacancy” in the Anambra Government House.

According to him, the people of Anambra have collectively resolved to re-elect the governor and his deputy to enable them to continue and consolidate their developmental strides.

Speaking to journalists during the 2025 Umueri New Yam Festival over the weekend, Metchie reiterated his position, stating that no serious contender is challenging Governor Soludo in the election.

He argued that the governor’s achievements in just three years have exceeded the expectations of the people.

He stated that the entire Omambala region would vote en masse for Soludo, adding that he personally stands firmly behind the governor.

Metchie further stressed that he would work tirelessly at the grassroots level to ensure a landslide victory for Soludo in the region.

According to him, the youths, women, and key stakeholders of the Omambala region are unanimously and unequivocally in support of Governor Soludo’s second-term bid, which he described as “non-negotiable.”

The President-General of Umueri, who also serves as the Deputy Commander-General (Intelligence) of the Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS), advised other candidates in the race to abandon their ambitions, maintaining that, in his view, “there is no vacancy” in the Anambra State Government House.
