The Odozi Obodo Anambra-East and West Support Group, a grassroots movement firmly rooted in the Omambala region of Anambra State, is actively mobilizing local communities in support of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, ahead of their re-election bid.

Founded by Chief John Metchie, the President-General of the Umueri General Assembly, the group has been promoting Governor Soludo’s developmental achievements across the state, with particular emphasis on the Anambra North Senatorial Zone.

The group commended the administration for initiating major projects, including the construction of five new general hospitals, extensive road infrastructure, and the provision of other essential amenities.

Comprising dedicated men and women from the Anambra-East and West Local Government Areas, the support group has taken its campaign to the grassroots, visiting wards and villages to highlight the governor’s accomplishments.

They urged constituents to return Soludo and Ibezim to office in the upcoming election scheduled for November 8, arguing that the last three years have brought tangible improvements to the region.

One of the prominent figures in the group, Princess Ngozi Okoye (Adaigbo Umueri), stated in an interview that Governor Soludo faces no credible opposition.

She claimed that no other administration had previously constructed a road in Nzam, Anambra-West the only local government area in the state that lacked a road connecting it to its headquarters until Soludo addressed the problem.

She further highlighted developments in Anambra-East, noting that the Umueri General Hospital has undergone significant renovation under the Soludo administration.

She cited the construction of a new general hospital in Enugwu-Otu Aguleri as evidence of the governor’s commitment to expanding healthcare access in rural communities.

According to her, these projects demonstrate the administration’s determination to bring quality healthcare to even the most remote villages.

Princess Okoye maintained that the governor’s re-election was “incontestable,” asserting that feedback from the grassroots shows strong public support for a second term, driven by visible improvements in governance and infrastructure.

Another key member of the support group, Mrs. Ann Ogbuefi, emphasized that Chief John Metchie created the Odozi Obodo Anambra-East and West Support Group as a platform to promote the achievements of the Soludo administration.

She said Metchie is using the group to campaign vigorously for the Soludo-Ibezim re-election and expressed confidence that the people of Anambra-East and West will vote overwhelmingly for the incumbent duo.

Speaking on the movement’s objectives, Chief John Metchie affirmed his personal commitment to ensuring that the entire Omambala region delivers a resounding vote of confidence in the governor and his deputy on November 8. He stated unequivocally that “there is no vacancy in the Government House” until Soludo completes a second term.

Metchie praised Governor Soludo’s “disruptive change mantra,” noting that its impact is being felt across Anambra State.

Quoting the governor, he added, “The people ain’t seen nothing yet,” suggesting that even greater development projects will be unveiled during a second term.
