Anambra 2025: APGA Solidarity Movement Ogbaru LG Inaugurates 16 Wards in Preparation to Re-elect Soludo

Ogbaru Local Government Area in Anambra State stood still at the weekend as the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Solidarity Movement inaugurated 16 wards into their fold and urged them to mobilize others for the re-election of Professor Charles Soludo in the November 8 Anambra State Governorship election.

The event marked the beginning of the APGA Solidarity Movement’s effort in Ogbaru to deliver victory for Soludo and other APGA candidates in the upcoming elections.

Believed to be the largest gathering of APGA faithful in Ogbaru Local Government Area, the event was held at Onitsha Holiday Resort. It featured the attendance of notable dignitaries, including the Local Government APGA Secretary, Hon. Chimezie Osigwe; National Convener of the APGA Solidarity Movement, Hon. Ebere Okafor; as well as the National and State Chairmen of APGA, Hon. Sly Ezeokenwa and Hon. Ifeatu Obiokoye, respectively.

Inaugurating the wards, Hon. Ndediegwu Chukwudum Wilson, coordinator of the APGA Solidarity Movement in Ogbaru Local Government, on behalf of National Convener Hon. Ebere Okafor, reminded the ward members that they are already integral members of the APGA Solidarity Movement.

He urged them to campaign and canvass actively for the re-election of Governor Charles Soludo in the November 8 gubernatorial election.

In an interview with newsmen, Hon. Ndediegwu expressed gratitude to God, noting that all their plans for the inauguration had materialized. He described the APGA Solidarity Movement as a support group for APGA as a political party.

He explained that the group’s main aim is to ensure that, during any election period, they deliver APGA candidates successfully.

He added that other objectives include strengthening the party, making it more formidable, and continuing its winning streak in elections.

Hon. Ndediegwu expressed confidence in Soludo’s achievements for Ndi Anambra and optimism about his victory in the upcoming governorship election.

Speaking briefly during the inauguration, the National Convener of the APGA Solidarity Movement, Hon. Ebere Okafor, addressed the Okpoko Community, assuring them of Soludo’s commitment and urging them to continue supporting him.

Also speaking, Hon. Chimezie Osigwe, APGA Secretary in Ogbaru Local Government, emphasized that the APGA Solidarity Movement in Ogbaru has come to stay. He praised their leader, Hon. Steve Nnaemezie, for steering the group effectively.

“Our duty is to encourage them. Nobody can deliver Soludo alone. We believe in unity and teamwork. Eventually, all support groups will merge into the party. We are going into the election with the party, and the party will deliver Soludo,” said Hon. Osigwe.

Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the event, Hon. Steve Nnaemezie (Ohamadike), Director of Contact Mobilization for the group, highlighted that the large turnout of APGA faithful was evidence of his efforts in rallying support for Soludo in Ogbaru Local Government Area, particularly in Okpoko.

He noted that the full attendance from all 16 wards, spanning both Ogbaru Constituencies 1 and 2, reflected the group’s capacity to mobilize support for Soludo in the upcoming November 8 election.

Hon. Nnaemezie declared that the primary objective of incorporating the wards is to ensure that any APGA candidate contesting an election will receive full support, active campaigning, and canvassing to secure victory.

“Currently, the focus is on the Governor of Anambra State, who is vying for re-election, and he will win because of his clear track record. By my assessment and that of Ndi Anambra, Soludo has performed very well during his first term and deserves a second term,” he said.

He cited Okpoko as a reference point, noting that the community now enjoys major social amenities. He mentioned ongoing projects such as roads, a football field, a shopping mall, and an event center—which Soludo promised to complete if re-elected.

“For me, I don’t see any serious contender in this election. Soludo is running against people who have nothing substantial to offer Ndi Anambra. You don’t need to promise roads where roads have already been built, or hospitals where hospitals exist. The opposition has no campaign points in Okpoko. They can campaign elsewhere, but coming to Okpoko is a waste of time,” Hon. Nnaemezie stated.
