Nigerian real estate developer Ayobami Folarin is challenging conventional industry practices with an innovative financing model that could significantly expand access to homeownership across Africa.
His company, Real Forte Estate Limited, has unveiled Nova City, a residential development backed by a groundbreaking 10% Homeownership Initiative a scheme designed to eliminate the traditional hurdle of high down payments.
Located in Apo Tafyi, Abuja, Nova City is envisioned as a self-sustaining community for over 300 families. The development will feature a wide array of amenities, including farmers markets, fully equipped gyms, jogging trails, EV charging stations, sports arenas, and event centers.

In contrast to the conventional Nigerian real estate market, which typically demands down payments of 30–50%, Real Forte’s 10% model significantly lowers the entry barrier. This makes quality homeownership feasible for a broader segment of the population, particularly middle-income families.
“Homeownership should be a right for every Nigerian, not a privilege for the few,” Folarin affirms. “Our 10% initiative opens doors that have long been closed by prohibitive upfront costs.” Folarin stated.
Folarin brings over a decade of experience in real estate development, supported by academic credentials from Bingham University, the London School of Business and Finance, and the International Career Institute (UK). Under his leadership, Real Forte has successfully delivered more than 200 housing units across Abuja, earning a reputation for reliability and execution.
