I Rejected Lucrative Offers from APC to Abandon ADC’s Struggle — Nwosu
Former national chairman of African Democratic Congress, Chief Ralph Nwosu

The former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Ralph Nwosu, has revealed that he rejected substantial financial inducements and attractive political appointments from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to remain committed to the ADC’s vision.
Speaking on Sunday during a Leadership Summit jointly organized by the ADC and the National Coalition Alliance (NCA) in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, Nwosu emphasized that neither he nor the party would ever mortgage the future of Nigeria for any price.
According to him, the ADC’s mission transcends conventional politics and is focused on transforming Nigeria from a nation in critical condition into a healthy, prosperous country.
“If I wanted billions or government positions, I could have easily obtained them. But I refused because I will not trade the future of Nigerians for personal gain,”
“The ADC movement is beyond politics. It’s about rescuing Nigeria from the brink and building a nation grounded in transparency, selflessness, and service. Our goal is to usher in a new leadership model by 2027,one rooted in integrity and genuine stewardship.”he stated.
Nwosu also condemned the reported arrest and harassment of ADC supporters by members of the state-owned security outfit, Neighbourhood Watch, at the initial venue of the summit. He accused state governors, particularly those under the APC, of turning power into an instrument of oppression and undermining the very democracy that brought them to office.
He criticized widespread mismanagement of local government funds, saying:“Each local government receives between ₦300 million and ₦600 million monthly. Governors seize these allocations, give chairmen just ₦5 million or ₦10 million, and pocket the rest. In Ebonyi alone, with 13 local councils, imagine the billions siphoned every month.
“Despite this, they still impose excessive taxes , even on barrow pushers. It’s wicked. Governance has become a tool for personal enrichment. That must stop.”
“You were given power by God to serve as governor, yet you use it to destroy democracy. You block young people from even aspiring to become councillors unless they join cults. But change is coming. A new leadership is emerging from the ADC, built on selflessness and true service to the people.”he said.
In his remarks, the National Coordinator of the NCA, Dr. Sunday Opoke, called on Nigerians to vote out failed leaders in the 2027 general elections, stating that governance in Nigeria has completely collapsed.
“Our education system is in ruins. No minister or commissioner of education has their children in public schools. The health system is broken. Water, electricity, infrastructure all have collapsed. These leaders have failed. If we hired them, it’s time to fire them,” he declared.
Opoke stated that the ADC/NCA coalition offers the roadmap Nigeria urgently needs.
“Globally, every functional nation has a roadmap. Without direction, speed is meaningless. ADC and NCA are offering that direction — a clear path toward a functioning Nigeria, like we see in England, France, Japan, and Canada. Yes, Nigeria is in darkness now, but this darkness will not last.”
He called for immediate electoral reforms, warning that
“Without meaningful electoral reform, these cycles of failure and disgrace will continue unchecked.”
