The Ezekwelu family of Enugo Ojoto, the headquarters of Idemili South Council Area in Anambra State, on Sunday donated two branded campaign vehicles to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8, 2025 election.

The handover ceremony climaxed an enthusiastic reception by the Ojoto community, home to Ukachukwu’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Kingsley Ezekwelu for the APC campaign team. The entire community erupted in song, music, and dance upon the arrival of Ukachukwu’s campaign convoy.

Men, women, and youth from the thirteen villages constituting Ojoto, along with neighboring communities of Oba, Ichi, Umuoji, Uke, and Ideani, had gathered in eager anticipation of the governorship flagbearer’s arrival. They praised God Almighty while drumming and dancing joyously, celebrating the visitor and his political aspirations.

They chanted solidarity songs, describing Ukachukwu as the people’s “Emancipator,” coming to rescue the state from the daily challenges of killings, kidnappings, and uncertainty. Their enthusiasm overwhelmed the candidate and his team, creating a spectacle reminiscent of election campaigns from years past.

In brief but impactful remarks, Dr. Ezekwelu introduced Ukachukwu as his esteemed boss, highlighting the qualities he believes are essential to rescue Anambra from the disastrous misrule that has characterized the current APGA administration’s three-and-a-half-year tenure.

He described Ukachukwu as an experienced legislator and a multifaceted, successful investor and businessman. Noting that Ukachukwu was a former member of the House of Representatives representing the Abuja Capital Territory.

Dr. Ezekwelu praised him as a real estate expert and a man filled with kindness, who has many plans to benefit the people of Anambra State.

Upon formally presenting Ukachukwu to the gathering, the crowd responded with a thunderous standing ovation.

Dr. Ezekwelu also announced the donation of two Siena vehicles and other campaign materials by the Ezekwelu family, in appreciation of Ukachukwu’s commitment to the people and in support of his campaign efforts.

Responding, Ukachukwu declared, “I will tell you what I can do. That which I can’t do, I won’t promise you. Those aspiring to rule, and those currently in power ask them what they have done for you.”

He recalled his school days at Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS), Onitsha, a time when clean, sparkling drinking water flowed freely from public taps.

“Those days, the water pressure was so strong it would snatch the cup from your hand unless you held it with both hands. Today, you cannot even find flood water to purify with alum. This situation in Onitsha reflects the reality across all 179 communities in the state. That is certainly not good governance.”he said.

On security, Ukachukwu lamented that despite large monthly deductions from the state’s coffers for security, Anambra remains unsafe.

“Instead of prioritizing the protection of lives and property, the state has witnessed the unchecked activities of non-state actors who kidnap, kill, and maim for ransom and amusement. Additionally, gangs wielding pestles roam the streets, beating citizens and extorting taxes and levies indiscriminately.”he added.

He noted that the state has never been this insecure before and that the multiple, debilitating taxes imposed on citizens and businesses make matters worse.

“We have come to fix Anambra and reclaim it from hoodlums and non-state actors. If you give us your mandate, we will guarantee the security of every Nigerian living here. Security will be our number one, two, and three priority because when security is ensured, everything else will fall into place.”he stated.

Ukachukwu pledged to improve infrastructure, starting with the road from Nnewi to Ichi to Oba and to Ojoto community, within three months of taking office—provided he has the support of the people.

“We will build roads that last, not ones washed away by the first rain.”he added.

He promised to reduce the tax burden on individuals and businesses, ensuring that the Akaodo tax collectors are eliminated because they harm the people.

Furthermore, Ukachukwu pledged to provide steady power supply for both domestic and industrial use by constructing a power plant at Omasi in Ayamelum Council Area, utilizing the large deposits of natural gas there.

He said his administration will also launch an agricultural revolution to enrich citizens through value chains, while prioritizing improvements in health, education, commerce, youth empowerment, employment, and welfare across all age groups.

“Remember, some say they will share money as they did during the August 16 by-election. When they bring it, take it because it’s your money—but vote them out at the polls and reclaim your life,”

“We are soliciting your support to fix Anambra for everyone’s good. We are all involved,” he added.

Addressing the people of Ndi Oba, Ukachukwu promised to look into the case of their son and brother, a well-known native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu (aka Akwa Okukuo Tiwara Aki), who has been detained since February on allegations of promoting get-rich-quick schemes and preparing charms for criminals.

He assured that converting the Omasi natural gas deposits would benefit all Anambra citizens by reducing electricity tariffs and offering gas at affordable rates to low-income earners. Ukachukwu also pledged to ensure diverse representation in governance—including both natives and non-natives—and to support farmers with loans and protections to promote food security.
