The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, has received with profound shock and sadness the news of the sudden and tragic death of one of its dedicated members, Mr. Alphonsus Nweze, who lost his life in a motor accident.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chapel Chairman, Mr. Chuks Ilozue, and the Secretary, Mrs. Lucy Osuizigbo-Okechukwu, the late Mr. Nweze was described as a committed, principled, and thorough journalist whose professional contributions left a lasting impact on the field of journalism.
According to the statement, until his untimely death, Mr. Nweze was a seasoned journalist, widely respected for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to truth and justice.

“His passing has created a void that will be difficult to fill,” the statement read. “Alphonsus Nweze’s legacy of courage, dedication, and journalistic excellence will continue to inspire members of the Chapel and the broader media community.”
The Correspondents’ Chapel deeply mourns this painful loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, colleagues, and the entire journalism fraternity.
