Anambra CP Decorates 14 Newly Promoted Officers, Unveils Renovated Amadabo Commissioner’s Hall in Awka

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, on Friday decorated fourteen newly promoted officers of the Command during a brief ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area.
At the same event, the Commissioner also unveiled the newly renovated Commissioner of Police Hall, a project graciously sponsored through the goodwill and benevolence of His Royal Highness, Otonye Efebo, PhD (Shidi VII), the Amadabo of Shidi Ama Twon-Brass, Bayelsa State.
The renovation, according to the Command, underscores the enduring partnership between traditional institutions and the Nigeria Police Force in advancing community-oriented policing and security development.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu.
According to SP Ikenga, while congratulating the newly promoted officers, CP Orutugu charged them to see their elevation as a call to greater service, renewed discipline, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He emphasized that promotion in the Force is both a recognition of past performance and a challenge to demonstrate greater commitment and responsibility in future assignments.
The Commissioner also commended His Royal Highness Otonye Efebo for his unwavering support to the Command, describing his gesture as a mark of patriotism and an invaluable contribution to community security enhancement.
He further noted that the renovated Commissioner’s Hall will now serve as an improved workspace for strategic meetings, training sessions, and conferences designed to enhance police service delivery in Anambra State.
SP Ikenga added that His Royal Highness, during his visit to CP Orutugu who hails from Brass Kingdom in Bayelsa State expressed satisfaction with the Commissioner’s leadership style, particularly his emphasis on community engagement, discipline, and visible policing across the State.
The Royal Father reaffirmed his commitment to continually support security initiatives that promote peace and stability in Anambra.
The officers decorated at the ceremony include,CSP Ikpeama Joy Chidimma, DPO Main Market Division,CSP Asso Emmanuel Agbuka, DPO Amanuke Division,CSP Nuhu Azeez, Officer-in-Charge, Special Anti-Cultism Squad (Obosi Sector),CSP Onyilo Thaddeus, Officer-in-Charge, Special Anti-Cultism Squad (Onitsha Sector)and ten other senior officers of the Command.
Highlights of the event included the formal decoration of the promoted officers, the unveiling of the renovated Commissioner’s Hall, and a group photograph with dignitaries, families of the officers, and members of the Command’s Management Team.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officers, relatives of the promoted officers, traditional leaders, and other invited guests.
