Benevolence in Action: Rev. Fr. Adimike Inspects Building Project, Gives Update on Completion
Very Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike
By Polycarp Ifeanyi, Onitsha
It is indeed practical Christianity in action as a Catholic priest of the Onitsha Archdiocese, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike, inspected an ongoing residential bungalow he is building for a widow with four children at Diaba in Opi-Agu, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
It is pertinent to note that Fr. Adimike is no stranger to charitable works and unwavering commitment to the well-being of humanity.
Through his non-governmental organization, the Faithspiration Initiative, he continues to bring the message of Christ to life by combining evangelism with acts of charity.
As the founder of the Faithspiration Initiative, Fr. Adimike and his team have consistently visited several rural communities and towns for charity outreach programs, including Mbutu, Olumbanasa, and Ayamelum—all in Anambra State.
Other areas that have benefited from his outreach include Opi-Agu and Agbani in Enugu State, as well as Bamenda in the Republic of Cameroon. In addition, the group has reached numerous underprivileged areas within the Onitsha metropolis, such as Nkpor New Parts, MCC Junction, Niger Bridge, Ugah Junction, and Upper Iweka.
It will be recalled that Fr. Adimike had earlier built a bungalow for another widow, Mrs. Roseline Ugwuezema, before embarking on the current project—a three-room and one sitting-room bungalow for Mrs. Anthonia, also a widow with four children.
During his recent inspection of the ongoing project, Fr. Adimike—who is also the Director of Communications for the Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese—shared a video update, saying:“I rushed to Diaba in Opi-Agu, Nsukka this morning to inspect the ongoing three-room and one sitting-room bungalow for the poor widow, Mrs. Anthonia.I am inspecting the project to ensure that Mrs. Anthonia and her four children will soon have a decent place to live. By God’s grace, the house will be completed in less than two weeks.A million thanks to everyone for your financial, moral, and spiritual support.”
Fr. Adimike’s journey from Anambra State to the rural village of Opi-Agu, Nsukka, to build homes for widows, alongside his continuous outreach to the poor perfectly embodies the message of compassion found in the Gospel of St. Matthew 25:42–43.
Indeed, Fr. Adimike has become a “Mother Teresa of our time”a doyen of charity whose compassion knows no boundaries. His generosity and kindness transcend denominational lines, as he continues to touch and transform lives in countless ways.
