IPOB Urges Ndigbo to Come Home for Christmas, Assures Security, Safety

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged Ndigbo, both in Nigeria and abroad, to return home for Christmas.

In a statement issued by its Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Emma Powerful, IPOB encouraged those planning to visit for the Christmas festivities to proceed with their plans, assuring that operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and IPOB volunteers will ensure security across the entire South-East region.

According to the statement, the South-East remains Nigeria’s most tranquil region despite what it described as “sponsored instability” over the last four years.

IPOB noted that security conditions in the region have significantly improved.

Powerful alleged that the government and its “backed criminals” have exhausted their orchestrated attempts to destabilize the region in a bid to blackmail IPOB and ESN.
He added that despite “the antics and deadly deeds of hyenas and jackals,” the “landowners” remain present and committed to defending their territory.

He stated that the Eastern Region has consistently remained secure and will continue to be so because Ndigbo are inherently peaceful.

“We urge Ndigbo and their friends wishing to visit Ala Igbo this Christmas to return home and experience the warmth of the Land of the Rising Sun.
Our people must disregard the funded and exaggerated media campaign portraying insecurity in the Biafra region. We acknowledge that, like every other part of Nigeria, there are pockets of insecurity in Biafra land. Nonetheless, IPOB and ESN, with the support of Ndigbo, have performed admirably in maintaining the security of Alaigbo compared to other regions,” the statement said.

Powerful also addressed what he described as false rumours circulating on social media regarding the alleged kidnapping of passengers at Ngor Okpala along the Owerri–Aba Expressway.
He insisted the alleged kidnapping incident was fabricated, stating that the video circulating online was an old clip that had resurfaced.

He stressed that multiple security operations have been successfully carried out by ESN operatives without any social media publicity.

“The public should be aware that ESN has no social media accounts. Do not expect to see their activities online except for those specifically authorized by IPOB leadership. The absence of constant killings and abductions in the Eastern region is proof that there are lions guarding the land.
Those spreading the falsehood that ESN operatives have been wiped out should ask the Fulani terrorists why they avoid the Eastern region. As the Igbo proverb says, onye si na osimiri atala, ya tinye ukwu ya (whoever claims a river has dried up should step into it),” he stated.

He further claimed that the Nigerian government, in collaboration with certain “self-serving Igbo politicians,” have repeatedly attempted but failed to dismantle ESN and IPOB.

He described the Biafra restoration project as a sacred mandate, noting that “darkness cannot extinguish light.”

“The restoration of Biafra is a summons from Chukwu Okike Abiama (God Almighty), and it will manifest at the appointed time.
we urge our people to return home in large numbers for Christmas and to bring investments back to our region. Do not allow anyone or the government to use fear tactics to make you abandon Biafra land. We greet you during this joyful season. May God bless each of you and grant safe travels on the roads, oceans, and in the air. Iseeeee,” he added.
