Police Arrest Notorious Armed Robber suspect Linked to Multiple Killings in Anambra, Environs

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a 26-year-old man, Ugochukwu Uzor, described as a dangerous criminal linked to several armed robberies and killings across the state.

The arrest was carried out by officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, during a major offensive operation in Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA) on December 8, 2025.

Uzor, who sustained severe injuries during the operation, was apprehended after what police described as a fierce confrontation in Iyowa Odekpe, Ogbaru LGA.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the suspect has a longstanding history of violent offenses.

According to him, officers recovered a locally made Beretta pistol and eleven rounds of live ammunition from Uzor during the operation.

Ikenga further disclosed that Uzor, who is widely known for his violent criminal activities, bears large tattoos with the inscriptions “No Forgiveness” and “No Mercy,” which investigators believe reflect his hardened criminal disposition.

Upon interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to leading several criminal gangs operating across Anambra State and neighboring states. He also admitted involvement in the abduction and subsequent murder of Hon. Azuka Justice, a respected member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, on December 24, 2024 an incident that shocked the state and drew widespread condemnation.

According to the Police Command, Uzor’s arrest marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to curb violent crime and will aid further investigations aimed at dismantling criminal syndicates operating within the state.

The Command urged the public to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies. Information regarding criminal activities can be reported confidentially through the following contacts:
