NAFDAC Uncovers Warehouse Containing Fake Cosmetics Worth ₦3 Billion in Lagos

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a warehouse stocked with banned, counterfeit, and unregistered cosmetic products valued at over ₦3 billion in Lagos State.
According to the agency, the illegal products were discovered at the APT Trade Fair Complex in Lagos.
NAFDAC disclosed that the warehouse was concealed within an uncompleted building, a tactic believed to have been used to evade detection by regulatory authorities.
In a statement shared on its official social media handle, the agency confirmed that the seized items included a large quantity of prohibited and falsified cosmetic products that pose potential health risks to consumers.

NAFDAC reiterated its commitment to intensifying surveillance and enforcement operations to rid the market of substandard and dangerous products.
The agency also warned distributors and retailers against engaging in the sale of unregistered or counterfeit goods, stressing that violators would face strict legal consequences.
