The frontline aspirant for the Anambra State House of Assembly, representing Okpoko/Ogbaru I Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Sir Kenneth Akwuobi, has revealed what inspired his ambition to contest for the seat.

Sir Akwuobi, who is the sitting Mayor of Ogbaru Local Government Area, explained that his decision to join the State House of Assembly race is driven by his desire to replicate his developmental strides in Okpoko, just as he transformed the Ogbaru Local Government Secretariat within one year and a few months.

He made this clarification in his office in Atani, the headquarters of Ogbaru Local Government Area, while fielding questions from journalists.

He stated, “To whom much is given, much is expected,” noting that if the Okpoko community elects him, he will ensure they feel the impact of effective representation.

He also acknowledged that several individuals have represented Okpoko over the years and have done their best.

Sir Akwuobi, popularly known as Okwuluora, and widely regarded as one of the best-performing local government mayors in Anambra State, emphasized that his achievements in Ogbaru within a short period are both visible and verifiable.

According to him, “I have attracted a lot of development across Ogbaru Local Government within a short period. I assure you that if I am elected by the Okpoko community to represent them in the Anambra State House of Assembly, I will perform even better than I did as Mayor of Ogbaru.”

“Okpoko community is my constituency; it is where I belong. If God permits and I am elected, give me just two years, and I will transform the community. My priority is to change the narrative and mindset of my people and give them the best. What matters in leadership is what you have offered your people as your legacy and what you bring to those who sent you to represent them.”he said.

He reiterated that his achievements as Mayor of Ogbaru are evidence of effective leadership, declaring that he will replicate the same performance in Okpoko if given the opportunity to serve.
