APC Ebonyi Chair Warns: Buy Forms Only as Directed by Governor
Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha
From Nabob Ogbonna, Abakaliki
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has warned registered members of the ruling party aspiring to elective positions in the forthcoming elections not to purchase nomination forms without the Governor’s approval.
Chief Emegha gave this advice on yesterday in Afikpo during the inauguration of the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone chapter of Grassroots Advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s re-election bid (GATFON).
He stressed that any aspirant who acts contrary to this directive would be wasting both effort and resources.
Emegha, who described Governor Nwifuru as a fair-minded leader, disclosed that the Governor is committed to ensuring justice and fairness across all constituencies in the state.
He therefore urged aspirants not to be swayed by social media hype or sponsored endorsements, noting that the Governor and the party would ensure that the right thing is done at the appropriate time.
“Let me use this opportunity to advise all of us, especially those seeking elective positions, to consult the Governor before purchasing nomination forms. Anything done outside the Governor’s directive is a waste of resources.
“I feel I should give this advice because the APC will soon begin selling forms. Do not buy any form without the Governor’s directive.
“Any money paid to the party is non-refundable. I do not want anyone coming to me asking for help to recover such money.
“So, I advise you to wait for the Governor’s directive. He knows all of us and is committed to ensuring justice and fairness across all constituencies,” he said.
Chief Emegha commended GATFON for its resilience and commitment to promoting good governance.
He noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru have performed well for the people of the state and deserve re-election for second terms in office.
He also pledged continued support for the group in achieving its aims and objectives.
Earlier, the Ebonyi State Coordinator of GATFON, Barr. Patrick Anayo Mbam, stated that the association was formed to promote the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, as well as to mobilise grassroots support for their re-election in 2027.
He charged local government coordinators in the zone to take the re-election message of President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru to all wards in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the local government coordinators, the GATFON Coordinator in Edda Local Government Area, Barr. Dick Agwu Dike, assured Chief Emegha—who is also the State Patron of the association—that they would work diligently to secure victory for President Tinubu, Governor Nwifuru, and all APC candidates in the zone in 2027.
Governor Nwifuru had earlier assured that serving federal lawmakers who have performed creditably would be given the opportunity to return to their respective offices in 2027.
