Insecurity: Uzodimma Moves to Rebuild Okigwe, Ehime Mbano, Others

Governor Hope Uzodimma receiving report from Samuel C. Kanu Uche, Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church of Nigeria

The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has assured the people of Okigwe, Ehime Mbano, Onuimo, and Ihitte Uboma Local Government Areas that his administration will prioritize infrastructural reconstruction across their communities.

He stated that this commitment follows the devastating insecurity that  threatened lives, livelihoods, and economic activities in the affected areas.

Governor Uzodimma made the pledge while receiving a report on the extent of destruction in the region from Samuel C. Kanu Uche, Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, who chaired the committee set up to investigate the crisis.

According to the governor:

“That commitment remains firm and unwavering. The committee established for this purpose, ably led by His Eminence, Dr. Samuel C. Kanu Uche, GSSI, conducted a thorough and independent investigation based on clearly defined terms of reference.

Upon receiving the comprehensive report detailing their findings and recommendations, I reaffirmed this promise and assured the people of immediate action on key recommendations that will yield quick and visible results, while structured plans are underway to address the remaining aspects.

As we steadily advance development across our dear Imo State, it is important to note that the destruction of public and private property without just cause undermines our collective progress. Let us embrace peace, uphold unity, and work together toward achieving our shared goals.”
